We are here to pray with you and offer guidance based on biblical principles. We understand that you are going through a difficult time in your relationship and want to keep your family together for your children. First, we want to remind you of the power of praying in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we have access to God and eternal salvation. Is this a marriage that is trying to stay together or a dating relationship?
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this family that is going through a rough time. We pray for Your guidance, wisdom, and healing in their relationship. Help them to seek You first.
If this is a marriage, Father, we know that You have designed marriage to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. We pray that You would strengthen their marriage and help them to work through their difficulties in a way that honors You. Let this marriage be an example of the love between Christ and the Church. Father, give them the strength to forgive, reconcile, and grow together in love and faith. We pray that they will be reminded of Your promise: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11 WEB.
If this is a dating relationship, we pray to God for discernment in their lives. We pray that they seek God and His will for their lives. We pray that they are only together if this relationship is intended to be a courtship leading to a Godly marriage.
Father, let them be good examples of Your love to their children. Help them to raise their children in the knowledge and admonition of the Lord. We pray that their home will be filled with Your peace, love, and grace.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
We encourage both of you to seek God individually and together. Remember that God's will is for your holiness and happiness.
If there is any sexual immorality occurring in this relationship, we remind you of what 1 Corinthians 6:18 says, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but whoever commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" WEB.
If there is any anger involved, remember what Psalm 37:8 says, "Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don't fret, it leads only to evildoing" WEB.
Lastly, we remind you of the importance of forgiveness. Ephesians 4:32 says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" WEB.
Stand strong in faith and remain in prayer. Remember that God is faithful, and He will strengthen and help you. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths.
