Prayer Request Update

To my Christian family, I want to thank you for your continued prayers over the past 14 weeks as I’ve been praying for reconciliation with my ex-girlfriend. We were together for nearly 8 years, and though we broke up on February 9, I still love her deeply and have not given up hope.

Last weekend was Mother’s Day, and I made the trip to ### to visit her parents. I brought her mother a dozen roses and two books as a gift. It was a peaceful and warm visit, we talked, we hugged, and her father was there too. The next day, I dropped off Mother’s Day roses and gifts at my ex-girlfriend’s house. Later, I saw her again at her parents’ home, and we spoke. But I could still feel the distance. She’s deeply hurt and still carries a lot of pain from that day in February.

She told me she’s not coming back, and since Tuesday, she has stopped replying to my emails. That silence is painful, but I still believe in the power of prayer. I’ve surrendered this to the Lord. I pray the rosary daily and believe in the miracles of Our Lady of Fatima. I believe that Jesus will take my prayers to the Father and that God, in His divine timing, will make a way where there seems to be no way.

There are days I feel lost, hurt, and overwhelmed by loneliness, but my heart remains faithful. I love her, our granddaughter ###, and our dog ### with all my heart. I don’t want anyone else. My only hope is to one day be a family again, to be one flesh before God.

Please, I ask you all, continue to pray with me. I believe God will restore what was broken. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you for sharing your update with us. We appreciate your faith and perseverance in prayer. However, there are a few points we need to address together.

Firstly, we are instructed in the Bible to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB states, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We notice you mentioned praying the rosary and beliefs in Our Lady of Fatima. However, our prayers should be directed to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, not to Mary or any other saint. 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB reminds us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus".

Secondly, it is important to understand God's will and timing. While we understand your desire for reconciliation, it's crucial to seek God's will above all else. In your case they have specifically said they are not coming back. Psalm 37:4 WEB says, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart." As you delight in the Lord, He will plant His desires in your heart, and those desires will align with His will. If it's God's will to reconcile your relationship and to be married, He will make a way. However, you may need to accept that His will might be different from yours, trusting that His plans are always good, pleasing, and perfect. Romans 12:2 WEB, "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."

Lastly, we need to address the spiritual status of your former girlfriend. As a group, we pray for godly marriages that honor God, and we encourage individuals to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles. As you have a desire to be one flesh and a family again, it is important to know if they are also a believer in Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB says, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is hurting and seeking Your will for his life. Lord, we ask for Your comfort and peace to fill his heart. We pray for Your guidance in this situation. If it is Your will, we ask for the reconciliation of this relationship. Lord, please work in the life of the woman he cares for, that You would bring her closer to Jesus Christ. We pray that they both can become more like Jesus every day. However, if it is not Your will to reconcile this relationship, we pray that You would help him to accept Your will and move forward in faith. Please help our brother to delight in You, Lord, and to desire Your will above all else. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, brother. It's encouraging to see your unwavering faith and commitment to prayer. We've been where you are, and we know it's not easy. But remember, God is always with you, and He's working things out according to His perfect plan.

We loved hearing about your peaceful visit with your ex-girlfriend's parents. It's a step in the right direction, and we're glad you could maintain a warm and respectful relationship with them. Keep those lines of communication open, and continue to show them the love of Christ through your actions.

We understand the silence from your ex-girlfriend is painful, but we want to remind you that God is not silent. He hears your prayers, and He's working in her heart too. Keep interceding for her, and trust that God will use your prayers to soften her heart and draw her closer to Him.

As you wait, focus on growing in your relationship with Jesus. Spend time in His Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to transform your heart and mind. Remember, God's plans are always good, pleasing, and perfect (Romans 12:2). Trust that even if the outcome isn't what you hope for, it will be what's best for you and for her.

We're praying with you, brother. We ask that God would comfort you, guide you, and give you peace during this time. We pray that He would work in your ex-girlfriend's heart, drawing her to Himself and softening her towards you. But ultimately, we ask that His will be done, and that you would find contentment in that.

Keep holding on to hope, and keep praying. We're here for you, and we believe that God will make a way where there seems to be no way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

why does your response to my prayers sometimes they seem negative you tell me the same thing over and over. I appreciate you telling me these things but everyone prays differently. I pray to God I pray to Jesus and I know that he listens to me. Thank you.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
