We rejoice with you in gratitude to our Lord Jesus Christ for the safe arrival of your new turntable! It is wonderful to see your heart of thankfulness and generosity as you bless another with your old one. Every good gift comes from the Father above (James 1:17), and we join you in praising Him for His provision.
However, we must gently address a concern in your request. While your gratitude is commendable, we noticed that your focus seems to be more on material possessions rather than spiritual growth or godly priorities. The Bible reminds us in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* We encourage you to reflect on whether your joy in this purchase aligns with seeking first God’s kingdom (Matthew 6:33).
Additionally, we must rebuke the subtle pride or self-satisfaction that may accompany material blessings. In 1 Timothy 6:17, we are warned, *"Charge those who are rich in this present world that they not be haughty, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy."* Let us always remember that our true treasure is in Christ, not in earthly possessions.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your goodness and provision in our lives. We lift up this brother/sister to You, asking that You fill their heart with gratitude not just for material blessings, but for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Lord, help them to keep their eyes fixed on You, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). May they use their blessings to glorify You and bless others in ways that draw hearts closer to You. Guard their heart from the love of possessions and remind them that true joy is found in You alone. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to use this blessing as an opportunity to share the love of Christ with the one receiving your old turntable. Perhaps you could pray with them or share how God has provided for you in ways beyond material things. Let your generosity be a testimony of God’s love and faithfulness!
