Prayer request that Jesus is just delaying my time

Dexter2020

Good and Faithful Servant
Prayer request that Jesus is just delaying my time and since he have not got me a job yet that I will not be back to worship and the longer it drags the longer I will be back for worship.

We hear the pain and frustration in your request and we understand how heavy the waiting for a job can feel, and how easy it is to feel that Jesus is delaying your time. We join with you now to bring this before the Lord together in Jesus' name and to seek His will for you.

We must lovingly rebuke the thought that you will withhold your worship until Jesus gives you a job, and that the longer He waits the longer you will stay away. Worship is not a transaction or a bargain with God, it is our response to who He is, not only to what He gives us. To make our worship conditional on getting what we want puts ourselves in the place of judging God, rather than trusting Him as our sovereign Father. The Lord does not withhold good from us out of neglect, His timing is perfect and His delays are not denials but often His loving preparation. Lamentations 3:25 says Yahweh is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. And Psalm 27:14 says Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh.

We also gently remind you that staying away from worship only harms your own soul and distances you from the very source of strength, peace, and provision you need in this season. Job worshiped even after losing everything and said Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be Yahweh's name in Job 1:21. The prophet Habakkuk declared Though the fig tree doesn't flourish, nor fruit be in the vines, yet I will rejoice in Yahweh. I will be joyful in the God of my salvation in Habakkuk 3:17-18. We are called to worship through the waiting, not only after the answer comes. Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

We know God cares about your need for work and He wants you to bring that need to Him. Matthew 6:33 teaches us But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. And Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Proverbs 3:5-6 calls us to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You see the burden of unemployment, the discouragement, and the feeling that You are delaying. Forgive us when we try to bargain with You or withhold our worship until we get our way. Soften this heart, Lord, and draw this soul back to worship now, not later. Help our friend to understand that You are not against them but for them, that You are working all things together for good for those who love You in Romans 8:28. We ask You to renew a spirit of worship and trust even in this waiting season. Provide, Father, according to Your riches and wisdom. Open the right door for employment in Your perfect timing, a job where this one can work diligently as unto You and provide faithfully. Give peace that passes understanding while waiting, and give strength to return to Your house and to Your presence today. Let worship be restored as the priority, not the reward after provision. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We encourage you not to wait to return to worship. Come back now, just as you are, with your disappointment and your need. Worship will change your perspective in the waiting and keep your heart close to the Lord who loves you and who will provide for you. Keep seeking Him daily, keep praying, keep looking diligently for work, and trust that His timing is for your good.

We hear how long this stretch without work has felt, and how natural it is to wonder if Jesus is holding back on you. When every application seems to go quiet, worship can start to feel far away, like something to return to once the job comes through.

We want to gently encourage you not to put that part of life on hold while you wait. Staying connected even in a small way can keep your heart from carrying this alone. If you have a pastor or a trusted friend at church, letting them know this week that you are out of work and feeling discouraged could open the door for prayer and practical support, and just for someone to walk with you in the search.

We also know the job search itself can wear you down with its ups and downs, the hope and then the frustration. You don't have to figure out the whole future today. Taking the next faithful step, whether that is reaching out for an application, asking for a reference, or simply showing up on Sunday as you are, is enough for today.

Father, we bring our brother before You. You see his need for work and the ache of waiting. Give him peace as he waits, wisdom for each next step, and provision for today. Draw him close to You not after the answer comes, but right now in the middle of it. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your words reveal a heavy trial, and the ache of waiting for work is not light. It is right to bring the want of a job before the Lord, for He hears the cry of His people, and He invites you to cry unto God Most High, unto God that performs all things for you.

Yet there is a danger in the thought you have expressed, that you will withhold your worship until God grants what you ask, and that the longer He delays the longer you will stay away. This is to make worship a bargain, and to set your expectation upon the gift rather than upon the Giver. Scripture teaches, Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. If we trust God only when He gives at once what we desire, we do not yet trust Him at all. Faith waits only upon God, and says, My expectation is from Him. It does not say, I will serve God if He serves my terms, but, Though He delays, yet will I trust Him and worship Him still.

Know this, the Lord is not delaying out of forgetfulness or unkindness. The prophet says, Therefore will the Lord wait, that He may be gracious unto you. His waiting is not neglect, but long patience and love, waiting to be gracious. When everything else has failed, we find Him lovingly waiting, ready to pardon and to provide in His own wise time. His timing is not ours, but it is never vain toward His chosen. When God has waited for the soul, that soul is brought to wait on Him, and that waiting turns at last to a glorious transaction of grace.

To stay from worship until work comes is to starve the very soul that needs strength for the trial. Worship is not a payment you give after God has paid you, it is the place where faith is fed, where the shield of faith is taken up, where prayer is made and the heart is lightened. Do not let the want of a job keep you from the house of prayer. Come now, as you are, needy and burdened, and wait upon the Lord there. Let your faith be an unpillared confidence resting not on whether a position has yet opened, but on the promise and character of God Himself.

We will pray for you, not that God would bless a resolve to stay away, but that He would draw you near. We ask the Lord to provide for your daily needs according to His wisdom, to open a door for honest labor in His good time, and above all to strengthen your faith so that you may please Him, submit to His will, and find your joy in Christ Himself whether the answer comes quickly or tarries. May He grant you grace to seek Him first, to return to worship without delay, and to prove that they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
