Disciple of Prayer
Please could I have prayer, I've been suffering with halitosis roughly since I was about I was 12 now I'm 37. I have very good oral hygiene l, regularly go to the dentist, I've tried many solutions and now I'm coming to the end of it, I feel like giving up, I've prayed so much about it. The depression and anxiety I'm getting with it as I don't want to mix with people, I struggle when I'm at work and church, I just want to feel free and worship the Lord. Thanks

We hear your deep distress and the heavy burden you’ve carried for so many years. Chronic halitosis is not just a physical struggle—it has weighed on your heart, mind, and spirit, making even the simplest interactions feel like a battle. You’ve sought help diligently, both medically and spiritually, and yet the struggle remains. We want you to know that your pain is seen, and your faith in bringing this before the Lord is not in vain. Even when answers seem delayed, He is working in ways we cannot yet perceive.

First, we rebuke the spirit of despair and isolation that has tried to take root in your life. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to withdraw from fellowship, from worship, and from the community of believers. But Scripture tells us, *"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly"* (John 10:10 WEB). This struggle is not from God, and we stand against it in the name of Jesus. You are not meant to live in shame or fear—you are called to walk in freedom, even now.

We also want to gently remind you that your prayers have been heard. The fact that you’ve persisted in bringing this before the Lord, even when answers haven’t come, is a testament to your faith. *"Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you"* (Matthew 7:7 WEB). But sometimes, the Lord allows us to wait so that our faith may be refined, our dependence on Him deepened, and our testimony strengthened. Your perseverance in prayer is not wasted—it is storing up treasure in heaven.

That said, we must also encourage you to continue seeking wisdom in every area. While you’ve pursued dental care, have you explored other potential medical causes with a trusted physician? Sometimes, issues like acid reflux, sinus conditions, or even dietary factors can contribute to chronic halitosis. The Lord often works through practical means, and we should not neglect seeking His wisdom in all avenues. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5 WEB).

Now, we lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who has carried this burden for so long. Lord, You see the tears, the frustration, and the weariness in their heart. You know the isolation they’ve felt and the way this struggle has tried to steal their joy and confidence. But You are the God who heals, the God who restores, and the God who sets the captive free.

We ask You to intervene in this situation, Lord. Touch their body, whether through medical breakthrough, divine healing, or a new understanding of how to manage this condition. Give them wisdom to seek the right help and the perseverance to keep pressing forward. Break the chains of anxiety and depression that have tried to take hold, and replace them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

Father, we also pray for their relationships—at work, at church, and in every area of life. Let them not be defined by this struggle, but by Your love and grace. Restore their confidence to worship You freely, to engage with others without fear, and to walk in the fullness of life You have for them. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14 WEB), and that their worth is not found in the opinions of others, but in Your unchanging love.

Lord, if there is any area where they have allowed bitterness or doubt to creep in, soften their heart. Help them to trust You even when the answer isn’t immediate. Strengthen their faith, and let this trial refine them, not define them. We declare that this is not the end of their story—You are writing a testimony of Your faithfulness through this very struggle.

We thank You, Father, that You are working even now. We trust You to bring breakthrough, healing, and freedom. In the name of Jesus, the Great Physician, we pray. Amen.

Do not lose heart. The Lord has not forgotten you. In fact, He is closer to you now than ever before. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18 WEB). Keep pressing into Him, keep seeking His face, and keep trusting that He will lead you to the other side of this trial. You are not alone in this—we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord stands with you. His grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB). Hold on to hope. Better days are coming.

We're right here with you, friend, and we want you to know that your struggle is not unseen. We've been where you are, feeling the weight of this issue that's been with you for so long. It's easy to feel isolated and alone when you're dealing with something like this, but remember, you're part of a bigger family - the family of God. And we're all in this together.

We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you to keep trusting God, even when it's hard. He sees you, He hears you, and He's working behind the scenes, even when you can't see it. Sometimes, it's in the waiting that our faith grows stronger, and our dependence on Him deepens.

We also want to remind you that God is a God of breakthroughs. He's not a God who leaves His children hanging. So, keep pressing in, keep seeking His face, and keep trusting that He's going to turn this situation around for your good.

In the meantime, let's continue to support each other, encourage each other, and lift each other up in prayer. Because that's what family does. And remember, you're never alone. We're here for you, and so is God. Keep holding on to hope, because better days are coming.

Let's pray together, "Father, we come before You today, lifting up our ### who's been dealing with halitosis for so long. Lord, You know their struggle, You see their pain, and You understand their frustration. We ask You to intervene, Lord. Touch their body, give them wisdom, and break the chains of anxiety and depression. Restore their confidence, Lord, and help them to worship You freely. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
