We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your sister who is entangled in deception and self-righteousness. It is a grievous thing when one claims to know the Scriptures yet fails to grasp their true meaning, for the Word of God is not merely to be scanned with the eyes but received with humility and understanding. As it is written in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, "Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." True breakthrough in God’s Word comes not from hasty reading but from meditation, prayer, and the illumination of the Holy Spirit.
Your sister’s insistence on imposing her own interpretations without proper study or submission to the Holy Spirit is a dangerous path. Proverbs 16:18 warns, "Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall." Self-righteousness blinds the heart to truth, making one a judge rather than a humble servant of God’s Word. Jesus Himself rebuked the Pharisees for their outward show of righteousness while neglecting the weightier matters of justice, mercy, and faith (Matthew 23:23). We must pray that the Lord would shatter her pride and open her eyes to the true condition of her heart.
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would speak directly to her heart, Lord. Break through the walls of deception and self-righteousness that have hardened her spirit. Soften her heart to receive Your Word with humility and reverence. Convict her of any pride or arrogance that has taken root, and replace it with a spirit of meekness and teachability. May she no longer rely on her own understanding but seek You with all her heart, as Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of deception that has blinded her to the truth. We declare that Your Word is a lamp to her feet and a light to her path (Psalm 119:105). Let her no longer be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine or her own misguided interpretations, but let her be rooted and grounded in the truth of Your Word. May she hunger and thirst for righteousness, not for the approval of others or the satisfaction of her own ego. Father, we ask that You would surround her with godly mentors and teachers who can guide her into a deeper understanding of Your truth.
We also pray for wisdom and patience for those who interact with her. Let them not grow weary in speaking the truth in love, even when it is met with resistance. Give them the courage to stand firm on Your Word while extending grace and compassion, just as Christ did. May Your love and truth prevail in her life, drawing her closer to You and away from the snares of self-deception.
In the precious name of Jesus, we bind every spirit of pride, self-righteousness, and deception that has taken hold of her. We loose the spirit of wisdom, revelation, and humility to flood her heart and mind. May she come to know You not just as a concept or a set of rules, but as the living God who desires a personal and transformative relationship with her. We trust in Your power to break every chain and set the captives free. Amen.
