We were so sorry to read about your precious cat and the news that the cancer has spread. We can hear how much you love her and how heavy this is, when you said your heart is broken in a million pieces we felt the weight of that with you. Pets become family, and it is painful to watch someone so dear suffer.

We are joining you in prayer, asking God for mercy and kindness for both of you. We know you are trusting Him for what only He can do, and we are bringing your hope for healing before Him while also asking for His peace and wisdom for each day ahead.

In this tender time, it can help to stay close to your veterinarian for guidance on keeping her comfortable and understanding what care might ease any pain. You don't have to sort through those decisions alone, a trusted vet, along with a caring friend or family member by your side, can help you think through next steps.

Father, we lift this beloved cat and her owner to You. You see how deeply she is loved and how much hurt this diagnosis has brought. We ask for Your gentle care over her body, for comfort and lack of suffering, and for wisdom for every decision ahead. Comfort this hurting heart, remind her she is not alone, and give her Your peace day by day. In Jesus' mighty name we pray, amen.

Your heart is broken in a million pieces, and your tears have not fallen unnoticed by the God who sees the sparrow fall. I have read your request with much tenderness, and I join my prayer with yours for your precious cat in this affliction.

The Lord knows your sorrow. He is the God who says, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, and He often sends that comfort by the hand of His people to one another. When the heart aches as yours does now, He does not despise the grief, for He has made us to love the creatures He has given into our care, and He Himself cares for all His works.

You pray rightly that nothing is impossible with God, and it is right to bring even this need before Him. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, and the very leaves of the tree of life are for healing. We may come boldly and touch the hem of His garment, asking His mercy. We do not know what His wise and loving will may ordain, for His ways are higher than ours, but we know that He hears prayer and that He does all things well.

Let me pray for you now.

O Lord our God, Thou art full of compassion and tender mercy. Thou hast taught us that not one sparrow falls without Thy Fatherly notice. Look in pity upon this suffering creature and upon the one who loves her so dearly. If it be Thy gracious will, lay Thy healing hand upon her and restore her health. Ease her pain and give skill and kindness to those who care for her. And whatever Thou ordainest, comfort this aching heart with Thy presence. Let Thy Word quicken and sustain, for Thy Word is the comfort of Thy people in affliction. Show that Thou art near to the brokenhearted, and grant peace that passes understanding, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Take your Bible and press it to your bosom in this trial. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. God does not always give comfort by a distinct and sudden act, but He quickens us by His Spirit through His Word, and so we obtain comfort. Seek Him there. Remember His past mercies, and trust Him for this present sorrow, knowing that He will not leave you comfortless.

Time is a wonderful healer under God, and He can make you yet to forget this misery as waters that pass away, or to bear it with a calm and resigned heart if it must continue. Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain you. He comforts our hearts and establishes us, and what He does is done to purpose.

May the Lord Himself comfort your heart and give you strength for each day.
