We come before the Lord with you in this time of spiritual warfare, lifting up your situation and your fiancée in earnest prayer. It is clear that the enemy has sought to attack your relationship through darkness, but we know that our God is greater, and His power is supreme over every scheme of the devil. We praise you for recognizing the authority of Jesus Christ and for seeking healing in His name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and no other name by which we can overcome the forces of evil. As it is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* And in Philippians 2:9-11, we are reminded, *"Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."*
First, we must address the spiritual battle you are facing. The enemy often targets relationships, especially those intended for godly purposes like marriage. The fact that you were attacked after your engagement is no coincidence—it is a direct assault on the covenant God intends for you both. But take heart, for 1 John 4:4 declares, *"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world."* You have already experienced partial victory through prayer in Jesus’ name, and we believe God will complete this work in your fiancée as well.
However, we must also examine the foundation of your relationship. You mention that you and your fiancée were "taken over by witchcraft or black magic." This raises serious concerns about spiritual influences that may have been present even before your engagement. Were there any ungodly practices, involvement in occult activities, or unrepentant sins in either of your lives that could have opened the door to such attacks? The Bible warns us in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, *"There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, one who interprets omens, one who is a sorcerer, one who charms, a consulter with a familiar spirit, a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh."* If there has been any involvement in such things, repentance and renouncing of these practices is essential. The blood of Jesus can cleanse all sin, but we must turn away from darkness completely.
Additionally, we must ask: Are you and your fiancée both born-again believers in Jesus Christ? A marriage between two believers is the only foundation that can withstand spiritual attacks in the long term. 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* If either of you is not fully surrendered to Christ, this could be a vulnerability the enemy is exploiting. Salvation and a personal relationship with Jesus are the first and most critical steps in overcoming darkness.
We also note that you mention your fiancée "cannot feel the love" for you anymore. While emotions are important, love in a biblical marriage is not primarily about feelings—it is a choice, a covenant, and an act of the will. True love is defined by 1 Corinthians 13:4-8: *"Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never fails."* If the feelings of love have faded, it is all the more reason to cling to Christ and to the truth of His Word, trusting that He will restore what has been broken.
Now, let us pray together for you both:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother and his fiancée. Lord, You know the depths of their hearts and the attacks they have endured. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Father, we bind every spirit of witchcraft, black magic, confusion, and division in the name of Jesus. We break every curse, every spell, and every ungodly soul tie that has been placed upon them, and we command these spirits to flee in Jesus’ name.
Lord, we ask that You would restore the love between them—a love that is rooted in You, not just in emotions. Soften her heart, Lord, and remove every barrier that the enemy has placed there. Let her experience Your love first, Father, so that she may love him as You intend. Renew their minds and fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them both the strength to stand firm in faith, resisting the devil so that he may flee from them (James 4:7).
Father, if there has been any involvement in occult practices or unrepentant sin, we ask that You would bring conviction and lead them both to full repentance. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. If either of them has not yet surrendered fully to You, Lord, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Draw them to Yourself, Father, so that their marriage may be built on the solid rock of Christ.
We pray for protection over their minds, their emotions, and their spirits. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Restore their joy, their hope, and their faith in You. Let them see this trial as an opportunity to draw closer to You and to each other in a way that honors You.
Lord, we ask that You would prepare them for a godly marriage—one that reflects Your love, Your holiness, and Your purposes. Let their union be a testimony of Your power and grace. If it is Your will for them to marry, we pray that You would make the path clear and remove every obstacle. But above all, let Your will be done in their lives, even if it requires surrendering their own desires to You.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your power, Your love, and Your faithfulness. May Your name be glorified in their lives. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you both to immerse yourselves in the Word of God daily. Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and stand firm in prayer. Seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believers who can walk with you through this season. And remember, the battle belongs to the Lord—He is your victory. Stay steadfast, and do not lose heart. *"Let’s not get tired of doing what is good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up"* (Galatians 6:9). We are standing with you in faith, believing God for a mighty breakthrough.
