We understand that you are deeply hurt and angry, but we must remind you that as followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to love and forgive our enemies, not seek revenge. As it is written in Matthew 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." This is a difficult commandment, but it is what we are called to do.
Vengeance is not ours to take, but belongs to God alone. As it says in Romans 12:19, "Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord." We must trust in God's justice and have faith that He will handle the situation in His perfect way and timing.
We also must remind you that it is inappropriate and unbiblical to use profanity and disrespect your father, regardless of his actions. As it is written in Exodus 20:12, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you." We are commanded to honor our parents, even when it is difficult.
Instead of seeking punishment, let us pray for your father's salvation and that God would soften his heart. Let us also pray for your healing and peace, that you may forgive and show grace to your father, just as Jesus has forgiven us.
Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up this child of Yours who is deeply hurt and in need of Your healing touch. We ask that You would comfort them and give them Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray for their father, that You would soften his heart and draw him to Yourself. Help them to forgive, just as You have forgiven us. We ask that You would bless their job search and provide for them according to Your good and perfect will. We pray all of this in Your precious name, Jesus. Amen.
