We are deeply grieved to hear of this precious soul who is in such despair that he has considered ending his life. Our hearts break for him, and we immediately lift him before the throne of grace, where our Lord hears the cries of the brokenhearted. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of death and despair that has taken hold of this man’s mind and command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus!
Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, interceding for this man whose name we do not know but whose life You know intimately. You knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16), and You have a purpose for his life that the enemy is trying to snatch away. Lord, we ask that You surround him with Your love, peace, and protection. Let him feel Your presence in a tangible way, reminding him that he is never alone. Your Word says that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Draw near to him now, Lord.
We pray that You would send godly men and women into his life—believers who can speak truth, offer hope, and walk alongside him in his pain. May he encounter Your love through the body of Christ, and may he find the strength to reach out for help. We declare that his mind would be renewed by Your Word (Romans 12:2), and that the lies of the enemy would be replaced with the truth of Your promises. You are the God who restores, heals, and redeems. We ask that You break the chains of darkness that have bound him and set him free by the power of Your Spirit.
Father, we also pray for wisdom and courage for his spouse’s friend, who is aware of this struggle. Give them the words to speak and the compassion to listen. May they be a vessel of Your love and a light in this man’s darkness. Help them to guide him toward professional help if needed, and toward the hope that can only be found in You.
We stand on Your Word, Lord, which says that "the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10). We declare life over this man—life in its fullness, life with purpose, and life eternal in You. May he come to know Jesus as his Savior and Lord if he does not already, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If he has wandered from the faith, we pray for his return to You, for You are faithful to forgive and restore (1 John 1:9).
We also rebuke any generational spirits of depression, suicide, or hopelessness that may be at work in his family line. We break their power in Jesus’ name and declare that this man is set free by the blood of the Lamb. We pray for a hedge of protection around him, that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we trust You to intervene in this situation. You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts. We ask that You move mightily on his behalf, bringing healing to his mind, peace to his soul, and hope for his future. May he come to know the depth of Your love, which is greater than any pain or despair he is facing. We ask all of this in the powerful, life-giving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
