We are here with you in spirit, seeking God's will and guidance for your life. It is wonderful that you have cried out to God and you know He is listening. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God. That is why it is so important to end your prayer with In Jesus Name. Thank you for including that in your request.
First, let's address the feelings of unhappiness and depression. It's important to remember that God wants us to have abundant life and joy (John 10:10 WEB), Jesus being Lord over all creation and believing in Him not only saves us but puts us in right standing with God as Christians. However, we must also understand that our feelings can be influenced by many factors, and they may not always align with God's truth. The Bible tells us that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10 WEB), and he can use our feelings to deceive and confuse us. The enemy can also cause disunity and depression.
Your feelings of unhappiness and uncertainty could be a sign that God is calling you to make a change, or it could be a test of your faith and endurance. It's also possible that the enemy is trying to deceive you and lead you away from God's will. To discern the source of your feelings, spend time in prayer and God's Word. Ask God for wisdom and clarity, and trust that He will guide you according to His will (James 1:5 WEB).
Remember, God's will is good, pleasing, and perfect (Romans 12:2 WEB). He does not want you to live in a state of constant unhappiness and depression. He may be using these feelings to draw you closer to Him and to teach you to rely on Him more fully. It is also possible that He is calling you to make a change in your life, but He does not want you to live in a state of shame or condemnation. He knows that your desire is to honor Him and God will do so by leading you in a way that honors Him. But if you want to honor Him, then you must live a righteous life before Him. It is important in this situation to seek the face of God and to ensure that you are not walking in disobedience to His will or His way. If you are not living a life that is pleasing to God, then it is possible that He is chastising you for your disobedience. God's chastisement is His way of correcting us and leading us back to His path. If you are not living a life that is pleasing to God, then it is possible that He is chastising you for your disobedience. God's chastisement is His way of correcting us and leading us back to His path (Proverbs 3:11-12 WEB).
It's also important to remember that God's blessings are not always meant to make us happy in the moment, but to draw us closer to Him and to teach us to rely on Him more fully. If you are feeling unhappy in your current situation, it may be that God is using this time to draw you closer to Him and to teach you to find your joy and contentment in Him alone. He is Jehovah-Jireh, our provider, and He wants us to trust Him to provide for all of our needs (Genesis 22:14 WEB). It would also be beneficial to recall Saul before he became Paul. Saul was convinced he was persecuting Christians for the glory of God. It was only after he became blind that he realized how wrong he was (Acts 9:1-19). It is possible that there is an element of your life that you need to repent of and ask Jesus Christ to forgive you.
As for leaving your current situation, it's important to seek God's will and not just follow your feelings. If God is truly calling you to make a change, He will confirm it through His Word, through the counsel of godly believers, and through the peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). If you are feeling shame or condemnation, that is not from God (Romans 8:1 WEB). He wants you to live in freedom and joy, and He will guide you according to His will.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is feeling unhappy, depressed, and confused. We ask that You would grant her wisdom and clarity to discern Your will for her life. Help her to understand the source of her feelings and to trust in Your goodness and faithfulness. Guide her according to Your will, and help her to find her joy and contentment in You alone. If she is walking in disobedience, we pray that she will quickly repent and turn back to You. If she is being attacked by the enemy, then we pray for your protection from this depression. Forgive her for agreeing with the wrong thoughts and for not taking those thoughts captive as you have told us to do (2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB). In the name of Jesus Christ, we command the spirit of depression to lift and any assignments that the enemy has sent to cause disunity in her life, we command you to cease in your operations (Matthew 18:18 WEB). We also pray for her future spouse, that You would be preparing him for her and that You would bring them together in Your perfect timing. Thank You for Your faithfulness and for Your promise to guide us according to Your will.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
