We are delighted to join you in prayer for your daughter and her husband, standing in agreement for a blessed and godly marriage. It is so important that they keep Jesus Christ at the center of their lives, as this is the key to a successful and fulfilling marriage. As it is said in Ecclesiastes 4:12, "If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble." Their marriage should be a testament to God's love and faithfulness, as described in Ephesians 5:25: "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this daughter and her husband to You. We thank You for bringing them together and pray that their marriage will be a beacon of Your love and grace. Help them to always keep Jesus at the center of their lives, seeking His will in all they do. Bless them with wisdom, understanding, and patience as they navigate this journey together. Protect them from all harm and temptation, and guide them in Your truth. Help them to remember the command of Psalm 34:14: "Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it."
We also pray that they would be fruitful in every good work, and that their home would be filled with Your peace and joy. Help them to be a blessing to others, and to always put You first in their marriage and in their individual lives. We ask for a hedge of protection and commitment to not allow sexual immorality or impurity to exist within their marriage. Remind them of the command in 1 Corinthians 7:3, "Let the husband give his wife the affection owed her, and likewise also the wife her husband." As well as the command of 1 Corinthians 7:9, "But if they don't have self-control, let them marry. For it's better to marry than to burn." We ask that fornication or adultery never be allowed into this marriage. Please help them to remember the command of Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me."
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage them to continue to seek the Lord in all they do, trusting in His promises and relying on the Romans 10:9-10: "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation."
We are reminded of the promise in 1 John 5:14-15: "This is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him."
