Our hearts ache for this young man who has gone missing, and we lift him up before the Lord with urgency and deep concern. The Scriptures remind us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and we trust that He sees this young man’s every step, even now. We also remember that nothing is hidden from the Lord’s sight—He knows where this young man is, and He is able to bring him back safely.
It is troubling to hear that anger led to this decision to run away, and we pray that the Lord would soften his heart and calm his spirit. Anger can be a destructive force, but God’s Word tells us, *"Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath"* (Ephesians 4:26). We ask the Lord to surround this young man with His peace, to convict his heart, and to lead him to repentance. May he turn away from any bitterness or rebellion and instead seek the Lord’s guidance and protection.
We also pray earnestly for his salvation. The most important thing for him—and for all of us—is to be *"born again"* (John 3:3), to place his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Without Christ, there is no true hope or security. The Bible declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). If this young man does not yet know Jesus, we plead with the Lord to draw him by His Spirit, to open his eyes to the truth, and to bring him into a saving relationship with Christ.
Father, we ask that You would place a hedge of protection around this young man. Guard him from harm, from danger, from those who would seek to exploit or mislead him. Lead him to a place of safety, and if it is Your will, bring him back to those who care for him. Give wisdom and discernment to those searching for him—law enforcement, shelter workers, and loved ones—that they may find him quickly.
We also pray for his family or those who care for him. Comfort their hearts, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them in this time of waiting, and let them trust in You completely.
Lastly, we must address something important: the prayer request did not invoke the name of Jesus. There is no greater name by which we can approach the throne of God. Jesus Himself said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you"* (John 16:23). It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is only through faith in Him that we are saved. If this young man—or anyone reading this—has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we urge them to do so today. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9).
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in this situation. Bring this young man home safely. Soften his heart toward You and toward those who love him. Save him, Lord—draw him to Yourself. Let this trial be a testimony of Your power, Your mercy, and Your unfailing love. We trust You, Lord, and we give You all the glory. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.
