Disciple of Prayer
Blessings, everyone, I pray all is well with you and your families. In the name of Jesus, Amen

I’m in need of prayer request for me and my mom and my family. This month has been very stressful and very hard for my mother especially she has not been getting any clients at all. It’s been about like one or two weeks. She hasn’t fully gotten a customer and she’s kind of sad about it because that is the only way she makes funds she’s a hairdresser by the way for this month, hasn’t really been that easy for her for the sake of no clients and she been kind of tight on money and I feel bad also our rent has increased more my mother has a housing subsidy so they pay half the rent and she pays the rest but UK since I work 2 jobs and my mom works as well but she doesn’t work as much hours I do but my 2 jobs combined the housing subsidy office calculated both of our income and they increased our rent by $135.00 more and the housing subsidy decreased their pay by $135.00 and it’s honestly a bummer because with my 2 jobs combined I honestly don’t even make $400 I make a little less than $300 so of course it’s kind of bad it’s like we don’t even have a housing subsidy because we pay more and they pay less. But in honest reality, it should be swapped the housing subsidy are supposed to pay more and we’re supposed to pay less but the reason why we’re paying more is because one person in the household is not a US citizen which is obviously my mother, so that is the reason why we pay more of the rent portion and they pay less, but once my mother becomes a US citizen, then we can request a fair hearing, and you know the roles would be reversed they would pay more and we would pay less. Today is the first month of October so I pray and I hope for many blessings, many opportunities, more fun, more customers for my mother. A great job opportunity for me whether it’s a teaching job it’s a security job. Just a good job. that’s good pay you know so I could actually start contributing to rent and bills. I’ve decided that I wanted to go back to school so I could get a master of social work because I believe where the master of social work has many opportunities I could either still work with kids I could work in communities, with families, in hospitals or mini clinics I have more of an advantage with a master in social work. But I think when I have to wait a little while because with the master of social work, especially the school that I wouldn’t attend. I have to pay out-of-pocket like I have to take student loans and right now. Money is really tight so I don’t wanna take any loans out so I guess I’ll wait and honestly, I feel like it’s never too late to go to school so I have the chance to go to school if not this year maybe next year. You know ever since I received my bachelor’s degree I’ve been applying for you know early childhood education jobs and I have not been able to land not even one proper interview. I’ve had like probably three or four interviews the first interview. I overslept. I rescheduled the day of the interview that I was supposed to go they canceled on me and and said that they were going to email me back but for another date and they never did the second interview was in a very, very far location basically in a different state and I couldn’t go and third and the fourth interview no one ever showed up so I was just in the Google meet meeting just looking at myself. So now I have to open up the options. And look for another job. But then honestly, you know with the housing subsidy if you work a certain amount of hours or if you get a certain amount of money they’ll keep on adding more money to our portion of the rent or they’ll just 100% and just cut off our housing subsidy and I can’t have that happen to my mother because you be told it is my fault that the rent price did go up because of my other job my second job which is security so at this point, I don’t even know what I’m going to do. Honestly, I don’t wanna lose our housing subsidy, but I do need to find another job and now that the government has shut down the housing subsidy is also at risk and mini public benefits are also at risk so I’m just hoping and praying for the best and I hope that the government opens up back soon because many people rely on the government and I was just me and my mother. I hope that I’m able to find a decent job. I hope that my mother gets approved for her green card application soon. I hope that I can be able to attend graduate school soon or later, but I do hope I have the opportunity to attend. I hope the best for us in this new month October 1. many opportunities and many benefits for me and my mom and also I just wanted to let you know that my mother received her travel documents so now the only thing that we are waiting for is the big one which is a green card application like the green card I honestly can’t wait. You know I’m at the age. I should be helping my mother now when I was a little girl, my mother she helped me with everything so now I should be helping her I should be fine. I should be paying half of the bills. She should not have to struggle to work. She’s disabled and she’s elderly, which makes her worse and I just feel guilty and I also I kind of feel useless and I know my mom is upset but I will be well soon. Thank you very much.

We lift you, your mother, and your family before the Lord, knowing that He is your Provider and the One who sustains you in every season. It is clear that this has been a time of great financial strain, emotional weight, and uncertainty, but we serve a God who sees your needs and hears your cries. You have done well to bring these burdens before Him, and we join you in seeking His face for wisdom, provision, and breakthrough.

The stress of financial hardship can feel overwhelming, but Scripture reminds us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is not a hollow promise—it is the truth of a faithful Father who cares for His children. Your mother’s work as a hairdresser has slowed, and the increase in rent has added to the pressure, but we must trust that God is not unaware of these details. He is the One who opens doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and who provides in ways we cannot foresee. We pray that the Lord would send an abundance of clients to your mother this month—clients who are faithful, generous, and consistent. May her hands be blessed, her skills be recognized, and her business flourish beyond expectation. Let her testimony be that of Proverbs 22:29: *"Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings. He won’t serve obscure men."*

We also lift up your employment situation before the Lord. You have been diligent in working two jobs, yet the income has not stretched far enough, and the interviews for teaching positions have not borne fruit. This can be disheartening, but we encourage you to hold fast to Jeremiah 29:11: *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says Yahweh, ‘plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future."* God has not forgotten you. The closed doors you’ve encountered may be His protection or redirection. We pray that the Lord would open the *right* door—a job that not only provides financially but aligns with His purpose for your life. Whether it is in teaching, security, or another field entirely, may He lead you to a position where you can contribute meaningfully to your household without jeopardizing the housing subsidy prematurely. If further education is part of His plan, He will make a way in His timing. Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps."* Trust that if graduate school is His will, He will provide the resources, the timing, and the favor you need.

The issue of your mother’s citizenship and the housing subsidy is a practical challenge, but it is not beyond God’s sovereignty. We pray for favor in the processing of her green card application. May every delay be broken, every obstacle removed, and may the Lord expedite her approval so that your family can receive the full benefits and relief you deserve. Until then, we ask for His supernatural provision to cover the gap. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:31-33: *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Your focus must remain on seeking Him first, trusting that He will handle the rest.

We also sense a deep emotional weight in your words—guilt over not being able to do more for your mother, frustration over the system’s unfairness, and even feelings of uselessness. But listen closely: your worth is not defined by what you can provide or how much you can contribute. You are deeply loved by God, and your value is found in Christ alone. Ephesians 2:10 declares, *"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them."* You are not useless; you are His workmanship, and He is preparing good works for you to walk in. The fact that you care so deeply for your mother is a testament to the godly character He has placed within you. Do not let the enemy burden you with false guilt. Instead, cast your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister and her family. Lord, You see the stress, the financial strain, and the emotional toll this season has brought. We ask that You would be their Provider, their Peace, and their Strength. Father, we pray for an outpouring of clients for this mother’s business—clients who are faithful, generous, and consistent. May her hands be blessed, and may her work bring in more than enough to cover the needs of their home. Lord, we rebuked the spirit of lack and scarcity in Jesus’ name, and we declare Your abundance over their finances.

We pray for divine favor in employment for our sister. Open the right doors, Lord—doors that no man can shut. If it is Your will for her to return to school, provide the means, the timing, and the clarity she needs. Give her wisdom as she navigates the housing subsidy and her mother’s citizenship process. We ask for supernatural favor in the approval of her green card, that every delay would be removed and that Your hand would move swiftly on their behalf.

Father, we speak peace over her heart. Remove the weight of guilt and replace it with the assurance of Your love and purpose for her life. You have not forgotten her or her mother. You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen them, Lord, and let them see Your hand at work in their lives this month.

We also pray for the government situation, that wisdom would prevail and that services like the housing subsidy would be restored quickly for the sake of many who depend on them. Let Your will be done in the earth as it is in heaven.

Finally, Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust You to move mightily in their lives, and we give You all the glory. In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm in faith, sister. God is not done writing your story. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and watch as He turns this season of struggle into a testimony of His faithfulness. He is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Walk in the confidence that He is working, even when you cannot see it. We are standing with you in prayer.
