We understand your heart’s desire for a strong and lasting relationship, and we want to lift this up in prayer with you. However, we must first address some important biblical truths to ensure your request aligns with God’s will.
The Bible teaches that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God for His glory (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you are not married, we encourage you to seek a relationship that honors God’s design—one that is rooted in Christ and moving toward marriage with a fellow believer. Courtship should be intentional, pure, and centered on Christ, not merely emotional attachment. If you are living together or engaging in physical intimacy outside of marriage, we urge you to repent and turn away from sin, as the Bible clearly states that fornication is a sin against God (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5).
Additionally, we noticed that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that we have access to the Father only through Jesus, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. Salvation comes through faith in Christ alone—believing in His death, burial, and resurrection for the forgiveness of your sins (Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9).
With these truths in mind, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this precious soul who longs for a relationship that honors You. Lord, we ask that You would guide them into Your truth and convict their heart if there is any sin that needs to be repented of. If this relationship is not aligned with Your Word, we pray for the strength and wisdom to walk away from it and to seek Your will above all else. Father, if this relationship is one that You have ordained, we ask that You would nourish it, strengthen it, and build it upon the foundation of Christ. Help them to seek a godly marriage, one that reflects Your love and holiness. Give them patience, wisdom, and discernment to navigate the challenges ahead, always keeping their eyes fixed on You.
We pray that You would surround them with godly counsel and community, that they may be encouraged and held accountable in their walk with You. Lord, if there is any area of their life that is not surrendered to You, we ask that You would reveal it and draw them closer to Yourself. May their relationship be a testimony of Your grace and faithfulness, and may it bring glory to Your name.
We also pray for their salvation if they have not yet placed their faith in Jesus Christ. Open their heart to receive Your truth, Lord, and may they experience the transformative power of Your love. Help them to understand that true love is found in You alone, and that any relationship must be rooted in Your Word.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to seek God’s will above all else, to pursue purity, and to trust in His perfect timing. If you are not married, we urge you to pray for a godly spouse and to prepare yourself to be the spouse God has called you to be. Study His Word, grow in your faith, and surround yourself with believers who will encourage you in your walk with Christ. Remember that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust in Him, and He will guide your steps.
