We lift up your wife and this situation before the Lord, knowing that He is a God of mercy, grace, and restoration. It is encouraging to see that she is taking responsibility and seeking to correct her mistake with honesty—this aligns with Scripture, which calls us to walk in integrity and trust in the Lord’s provision. Proverbs 11:3 reminds us, *"The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them."* We praise God for her heart to do what is right, even in a moment of difficulty.
The fear of losing a job is very real, especially in times when work is scarce, but we must remember that our trust is not in the stability of man or the economy, but in the Lord, who owns all things and provides for His children. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Let this be an anchor for your hearts as you navigate this trial. The Lord sees her honesty, and He is able to turn even mistakes into testimonies of His faithfulness.
We also take this moment to encourage you both to continue walking in unity and prayer as a married couple. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 tells us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one keep warm alone? If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken."* Your marriage is a reflection of Christ’s covenant love for His church, and when you stand together in faith, you are stronger.
Now, let us pray together for this situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this sister in Christ who has acted with honesty and a desire to make things right. Lord, we ask for Your favor to rest upon her as she seeks to correct this mistake. Softening the hearts of those in authority over her, grant them wisdom and discernment to see her integrity and the value she brings to her work. Father, You are the God who redeems and restores—what the enemy intends for harm, You turn for good. We ask that You would turn this situation into a testimony of Your grace and provision.
Lord, we also pray for peace to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, casting out all fear and anxiety. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Jehovah Jireh, and that You hold their future in Your hands. If there are lessons to be learned through this, reveal them with gentleness and clarity. Strengthen their marriage, Lord, as they lean on You and each other during this time.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, condemnation, or shame that may try to creep in. Your Word tells us in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* Father, we thank You that Your mercy is new every morning and that You delight in showing compassion to Your children.
We ask all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus, knowing that it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in this situation. Amen.
