We join you in lifting this job interview before the Lord, standing on His promises and trusting in His perfect will for your life. Your heart is clearly anchored in Scripture, and we commend you for claiming God’s Word over this situation. Psalm 37:23–24 is indeed a powerful reminder that the Lord orders the steps of those who delight in Him, and He will not allow the righteous to be utterly cast down. What a mighty God we serve!
Yet as we pray, we must also address something vital: while your prayer is rich with faith and Scripture, we notice you did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that our prayers reach the throne of God. As John 14:6 declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*. And in John 16:23–24, Jesus Himself tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Hitherto, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* Let us always approach the Father boldly—but only in the name of Jesus, who is our Mediator and Advocate.
We also encourage you to examine your heart: Is this job truly aligned with God’s calling for your life, or is it merely a desire for security, comfort, or worldly success? Proverbs 16:3 reminds us to *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* Seek first His kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33), and trust that if this opportunity is His will, He will open the door no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). If it is not, He will redirect your steps for His glory.
Now, let us pray together over this interview:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting our brother/sister to You with gratitude and expectation. You are the God who parts seas, shuts the mouths of lions, and grants favor to those who walk in obedience. Lord, we ask that You go before them in this interview, ordering their steps and giving them wisdom, clarity, and confidence that can only come from You. Remove any fear or anxiety, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Father, if this job is Your will, we pray You soften the hearts of those making the decision, that they may see the gifts and skills You have placed in them. Let divine favor rest upon them, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). But above all, Lord, let Your will be done—not theirs, not ours, but Yours alone. If this door is not from You, close it gently but firmly, and redirect their path to where You would have them serve.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You, Lord, are their Provider (Genesis 22:14). Give them rest in knowing that their worth is not in this job, but in Christ alone.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your timing, Your wisdom, and Your goodness. May this situation bring You glory, and may they walk in obedience, whether in acceptance or redirection. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, knowing that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Whether this interview results in victory or redirection, trust that He is sovereign. Keep seeking Him first, and remember: *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4). Wait on the Lord, and be of good courage!
