Prayer for ###

We come before the Lord with a heart of gratitude for His faithfulness and a spirit of intercession for our brother, whom we will refer to respectfully as we lift him up in prayer. The desire for wisdom and clarity in decisions—especially those as significant as career changes—is one that God honors, for He promises to give wisdom generously to all who ask in faith. The book of James reminds us, *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5, WEB). This is not a passive promise but an active invitation to seek the Lord’s direction with confidence, knowing He will guide our steps when we trust in Him.

Yet, as we pray for wisdom, we must also examine the heart behind this desire. Is this a decision rooted in frustration, weariness, or worldly ambition, or is it a godly conviction to step into a new season of obedience? The Apostle Paul urges us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23, WEB). If our brother is feeling unfulfilled or undervalued, we pray the Lord renews his perspective, reminding him that his labor is ultimately for Christ, whether he stays or leaves. If, however, this is a call to something new, we ask for divine confirmation—open doors, peace that surpasses understanding, and godly counsel to affirm His will.

We also encourage our brother to seek the Lord *first* in this matter, not merely as a last resort. Jesus teaches us, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). A job is a provision, but it is not our ultimate purpose. If this transition aligns with God’s kingdom work—whether in ministry, a new field, or a season of rest—then we trust the Lord to provide abundantly. If it stems from impatience or discontent, we ask the Holy Spirit to realign his heart with God’s timing and plan.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, asking for Your divine wisdom and clarity as he considers this significant decision. Lord, You know the desires of his heart, the struggles he faces, and the path You have prepared for him. We ask that You speak clearly to him—through Your Word, through the counsel of godly believers, and through the peace that only You can provide. Remove any fear, doubt, or worldly influence that may cloud his judgment. If it is Your will for him to remain in his current position, grant him renewed strength, joy, and purpose in his work. If it is time for him to step into something new, open the doors that no man can shut and make the path straight before him.

Father, we also pray against any spirit of haste or impulsiveness. Let him not lean on his own understanding but acknowledge You in all his ways, trusting that You will direct his steps (Proverbs 3:5-6). Provide for him financially, emotionally, and spiritually during this season of discernment. May he seek Your kingdom above all else, knowing that You are his Provider and Sustain.

We rebuke any anxiety or uncertainty the enemy may try to place upon him. Instead, fill him with Your peace, which guards his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). Remind him that his identity is not in his job but in You—his Redeemer, his Strength, and his Ever-Present Help.

Finally, Father, we ask that You surround him with godly counsel—believers who will speak truth in love and point him back to Your Word. Let him not make this decision in isolation but in community, where iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who intercedes for us even now at Your right hand. Amen.

To our brother, we encourage you to spend time in fasting and prayer, seeking the Lord’s face before making any final decisions. Write down the pros and cons, but weigh them against Scripture, not just circumstance. Ask yourself: *Is this decision honoring to God? Will it allow me to serve Him more effectively? Am I seeking His glory or my own comfort?* Trust that the Lord will make His will known in His perfect timing. Wait on Him, and do not rush ahead of His leading. We are standing with you in faith, believing God will guide you every step of the way.
