Disciple of Prayer
I just got hired for a job yesterday and today I went to orientation for a security job. I did all my paperwork and drug test and passed. They pulled up my background for charges that were years ago and dismissed. I was around the wrong crowd, now my start date is delayed. I’m crying, I’m losing faith, and I’m tired of looking for a job and I just wanna give up. I have a job but it’s not enough to keep gas in my car and feed me and my family. I’m basically struggling. I really wanted this job but I guess God said No.

We understand the deep pain and frustration you’re feeling right now, and we want you to know that God sees your struggle, your tears, and your weariness. It’s heartbreaking to feel so close to a breakthrough only to face another delay, but we urge you not to lose faith. The enemy wants you to believe that this setback is the end, but God is still working—even in this. You are not forgotten, and this is not a "no" from God, but a "wait." His timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t feel like it.

The charges from your past may have resurfaced, but remember: in Christ, you are a *new creation*. The old has passed away, and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). Those past mistakes do not define you, and they do not have the final say over your future. God is greater than any background check, any delay, or any closed door. He can open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), and He can turn what the enemy meant for harm into something for your good (Genesis 50:20).

We also want to gently remind you that your hope must remain in Jesus alone—not in a job, not in a paycheck, but in the One who provides for the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field (Matthew 6:26-30). He knows your needs, and He has not abandoned you. When you feel like giving up, lean into Him. Cry out to Him. He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He will strengthen you when you feel weak (Isaiah 40:29).

As for your current job, we pray that God would stretch every dollar, every drop of gas, and every loaf of bread to sustain you and your family. He multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed thousands (Matthew 14:17-21), and He can multiply what little you have now. Trust Him to provide in ways you cannot see yet.

We also encourage you to use this time of waiting to seek God’s face. Ask Him: *"Lord, is there something You want me to learn in this season? Is there an area of my life You want to refine?"* Sometimes delays are divine appointments—opportunities for God to prepare us, to humble us, or to redirect our steps onto a path we never would have chosen for ourselves. Proverbs 16:9 says, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."*

Lastly, we want to remind you that your worth is not tied to your employment status. You are deeply loved by God, not because of what you do, but because of who you are in Christ. If you have not already, we urge you to surrender this entire situation to Jesus. Acknowledge Him as Lord over your life, your finances, and your future. If you’ve never invited Him into your heart as your Savior, now is the time. Romans 10:9 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* There is no greater security than knowing you are held by the hands of the One who created the universe.

**Let us pray for you:**

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You right now. Lord, they are weary, discouraged, and on the verge of giving up. But we declare that You are their strength, their provider, and their hope. You see the tears they’ve cried, the sleepless nights, and the weight of responsibility they carry for their family. Father, we ask that You would intervene in this situation. If this security job is Your will, we pray that every obstacle would be removed, that favor would be granted, and that the start date would be accelerated. But if this door is closed for a reason we cannot yet see, we ask that You would open another door—one that leads to abundance, stability, and peace.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that is trying to take root. We speak life, faith, and perseverance over them. Remind them that You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. You fed Elijah by the brook Cherith (1 Kings 17:4-6), and You will provide for them too. We pray for supernatural provision—for gas in the tank, food on the table, and wisdom to steward what they have.

Father, we also ask that You would use this season to draw them closer to You. Strip away any reliance on their own strength and let them find their rest in You alone. If there are areas of their life that need surrender, convict them gently and lead them to repentance. Give them peace that surpasses understanding as they wait on You.

And Lord, if they do not yet know You as their Savior, we pray that this trial would be the very thing that leads them to the foot of the cross. Open their eyes to see that Jesus is the answer—not just to their financial needs, but to the deepest longings of their soul. May they place their trust in Him today and forever.

We declare that this delay is not denial. You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Give them the grace to wait, the faith to believe, and the courage to keep moving forward. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

**A word of encouragement:**
Keep pressing on. The night is darkest just before the dawn. God has not brought you this far to leave you. Stand firm, trust Him, and watch what He will do. We are standing with you in faith, believing for your breakthrough. Do not give up. Your miracle is on the way.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when it feels like you're so close yet so far from a breakthrough. But remember, God is always working, even when we can't see it. He's not surprised by this delay, and He's not punishing you. He's got a plan, and it's perfect.

We've been where you are. It's exhausting, isn't it? The constant searching, the waiting, the worry. But we want you to know that you're not alone. We're praying for you, and we believe that God is going to come through for you.

We know it's hard to see right now, but God is using this time to shape you. He's refining you, teaching you to trust Him more. He's showing you that your worth isn't tied to a job or a paycheck, but to who you are in Christ.

So, let's keep trusting Him together. Let's keep believing that He's got a plan, and it's good. Let's keep standing firm, even when it's hard. Because we know that our God is faithful, and He's not going to let us down.

Keep pressing on, friend. Your breakthrough is coming.
