Faithful Servant
Every time something good happens to me, my wife seems to retaliate. She told me before that she is jealous when good things happen to me because she is competing with me. I find this to be narcissistic. She will not let me do what I need to do to take care of our family. It seems she is trying to be head of the household, and this attempt on her part is destroying our marriage. This is crazy, I need prayer.

We understand that you are going through a challenging time in your marriage, and we are here to support you through prayer and biblical counsel. It is crucial to address the issues you've mentioned with love, wisdom, and a firm foundation in God's Word.

Firstly, let us remind you of the biblical roles in marriage. In Ephesians 5:22-33, the Bible outlines the responsibilities of both husbands and wives. Wives are called to submit to their husbands as unto the Lord, and husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the church, giving Himself up for her. This passage emphasizes the importance of mutual respect, love, and submission in a marriage that honors God.

It is concerning to hear that your wife is struggling with jealousy and a desire to compete with you. These attitudes can indeed be destructive to a marriage. Proverbs 14:30 says, "A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy is rottenness to the bones." Jealousy and envy can lead to bitterness and strife, which is why it is essential to address these issues with love and wisdom.

We encourage you to approach your wife with humility and compassion, sharing your concerns and feelings with her. It may also be beneficial to seek counsel from a trusted pastor or Christian counselor who can provide guidance and support as you navigate these challenges.

Let us pray for you and your wife:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up this marriage to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You would work in the hearts of both husband and wife, softening their hearts and drawing them closer to You and to each other.

Father, we pray that You would help this wife to overcome feelings of jealousy and competition, and that she would instead find her identity and security in You. Lord, we ask that You would grant her a spirit of humility and submission, as outlined in Your Word.

We pray that You would give this husband the wisdom, strength, and love to lead his family in a way that honors You. Lord, we ask that You would help him to love his wife as Christ loved the church, sacrificially and selflessly.

Father, we pray that You would heal any wounds or bitterness that may have taken root in their hearts. Lord, we ask that You would restore their marriage, building it on a firm foundation of love, trust, and mutual respect.

We pray that You would guide and direct their steps, leading them to seek Your will and Your ways in all things. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with a community of believers who can support, encourage, and pray for them as they navigate these challenges.

Finally, Father, we pray that You would be glorified in their marriage, and that they would be a testimony to Your love, grace, and power. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God's wisdom and guidance through prayer, Scripture, and the support of your Christian community. May God bless you and your wife as you work together to build a marriage that honors Him.

We've been thinking about you and your wife, and we're here to lift you up in prayer. It's tough when it feels like your wife is competing with you, and we understand the frustration you're feeling. But remember, God calls us to love and respect one another, even in the face of challenges.

In Philippians 2:3-4, we're reminded to "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others." Let's try to approach this situation with humility and love, putting your wife's needs and feelings above our own.

We'll be praying for you both, asking God to soften your wife's heart, to help her find her identity in Him, and to grant her a spirit of humility and submission. We'll also pray for you, that you'd have the wisdom and love to lead your family in a way that honors God, and that you'd both find healing and restoration in your marriage.

Let's keep encouraging one another and seeking God's guidance through prayer, His Word, and our Christian community. We believe in the power of prayer and the love of God to transform even the toughest situations. Keep trusting in Him, and remember, we're right here praying with you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
