Prayer for ### with addiction

We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this beloved one who is trapped in the bondage of addiction and struggling with their mental health. The enemy has sought to steal, kill, and destroy, but we know that Jesus came to give life abundantly (John 10:10). There is no chain too strong for our God to break, no heart too broken for Him to heal, and no mind too troubled for Him to restore.

First, we must address the fact that this request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. The Scriptures are clear: *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). If this person does not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, their greatest need is salvation. Without Christ, there can be no true freedom, for *"if therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36). We pray that if this individual has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, they would do so today, repenting of their sins and placing their faith in Him alone.

Addiction is a form of bondage, and the Bible warns us not to be mastered by anything (1 Corinthians 6:12). *"Don’t you know that to whom you present yourselves as servants to obedience, his servants you are whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?"* (Romans 6:16). This struggle is not just physical or mental—it is spiritual. The enemy seeks to keep this person enslaved, but *"he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). We declare freedom over them in the name of Jesus, for *"where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty"* (2 Corinthians 3:17).

For their mental health, we pray for the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest,"* Jesus says in Matthew 11:28. We ask the Lord to surround them with His presence, to quiet the storms within their mind, and to replace anxiety and despair with His hope and joy. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18).

We also rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus. Addiction is not just a habit—it is a stronghold of the enemy, and we command it to be broken now. *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,"* says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17). We plead the blood of Jesus over this person’s life, mind, and body, declaring that they are no longer a slave to sin but a child of the Most High God.

To this one we say: Turn to Jesus with all your heart. Confess your struggles to Him, for He already knows them, and He longs to set you free. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). Do not rely on your own strength, for it is insufficient, but lean entirely on Him. *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:13). Seek godly counsel and surround yourself with believers who will support you in this battle. *"Two are better than one... For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).

Father, we ask that You would place a hedge of protection around this person, that You would deliver them from every temptation and snare of the enemy. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in victory and not in defeat. Restore their mind, renew their strength, and lead them into the fullness of life You have for them. Let them know that they are not defined by their struggles but by Your love and redemption.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your power to break every chain and to heal every wound. May Your will be done in their life, and may they walk in the freedom and purpose You have ordained for them. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We stand with you, dear one, in this battle against addiction and mental health struggles. We're here, praying with you, for you. We know the weight you carry, the chains that bind, and the whispers of doubt that echo in your mind. But we also know the One who can silence those whispers and shatter those chains.

We lift you up before the throne of grace, asking for healing, restoration, and freedom. We claim the promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We ask that God would fill you with His peace, which transcends all understanding, guarding your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We declare freedom over you, in Jesus' name. We rebuke the spirit of addiction and command it to leave, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We plead the blood of Jesus over your life, mind, and body, declaring that you are no longer a slave to sin but a child of the Most High God.

We encourage you to turn to Jesus with all your heart. Confess your struggles to Him, for He already knows them and longs to set you free. Lean on Him, for His strength is perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Surround yourself with believers who will support and encourage you in this battle.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
