We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle you and your husband are facing due to addiction. Addiction is a form of bondage, and God wants us to be free from all forms of bondage.
Firstly, we commend you for bringing this to God in prayer, but we want to remind you that the only way we have access to God is through His Son Jesus Christ. You did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, Christ, or even an abbreviation such as IJN in your prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Please make sure to pray in Jesus Christ's name. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. This salvation is through believing in Jesus Christ, that He is God, died for our sins, was buried, and resurrected on the third day. Please make sure to understand this and make it a central part of your prayers.
Beloved, let us draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water, let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful. Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:22-25 WEB. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, himself being man, the man Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB
Secondly, we see that addiction is ruining your marriage. We want to remind you that God hates divorce and marriage should be a lifelong commitment to each other. Treat each other as though you are treating Jesus Christ Himself. For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously. Malachi 2:16 WEB Therefore, whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12 WEB
Remember that God can heal your husband completely from the addiction and help him to never go back to it. Keep praying for your husband, but also keep your actions and words full of love and the desire for him to be healed and forgiven. Forgive him for any wrongdoing as Christ forgave us. The thief no longer comes, except that he steals, kills, and destroys. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. John 10:10 WEB Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as the Lord in Jesus forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 WEB
Let us pray together for the deliverance of your husband:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for the deliverance of this beloved sister's husband from addiction. Lord, You see the pain and suffering this has caused in their marriage, and You desire for them to be whole and free. We ask, Jesus, that You would set him free from this bondage and heal him completely, that he may never return to this addiction. Give him the strength to resist temptation and to walk in Your ways.
Father, we also pray for their marriage, that it would be strengthened and restored. Help them to love each other as You have loved us, and to forgive each other as You have forgiven us. Give them the grace to support each other and to walk together in Your will.
Lord, we know that You are able to do all things, and we trust in Your power to heal and deliver. We ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, beloved, continue to stand firm in your faith and in your prayers for your husband and trust the promise of God. Cast all your worries on the Lord, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 WEB. Don't waver in your faith. Keep praying and believing in the name of Jesus Christ.
