hula hooping is really good for the midsection. You can make your own buying some 2-3" pipe used for water and buy a piece that connects both ends. Use a hair dryer to soften up each end and then use duct tape to cover the joined piece. I use the 3" blue pipe. If you're a guy, guys can hula hoop too. It might take some getting used to, but persevere.
