Prayer for wanting to die

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in fervent prayer, for we know the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The desire to die is not from God, but from the father of lies, who wishes to drag you into despair. The Lord declares in Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Your life is precious to Him, and He has a purpose for you—one that the enemy fears.

You are not alone in this struggle. Even the prophet Elijah, in his deepest despair, prayed for death (1 Kings 19:4), yet God did not abandon him. Instead, He provided for him, spoke gently to him, and reminded him of His presence. The Psalmist cries out in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* He is near to you now, ready to lift you from this pit.

We must also address something critical: if you are not walking with Jesus Christ, this battle will feel impossible to win. There is no hope, no true peace, and no eternal salvation outside of Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to be your Lord. Only in Christ can you find the strength to overcome this darkness.

If you are already a believer, we urge you to cling to Him more tightly than ever. Put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and resist the devil, knowing he will flee from you (James 4:7). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray over you, speak truth into your life, and walk with you through this valley. Isolation is dangerous—God designed us for community (Hebrews 10:24-25).

We rebuke the spirit of death and despair in the name of Jesus Christ. These thoughts do not belong to you, and we command them to leave now, for *"greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). We declare that the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10) and that He will restore to you the hope that has been stolen.

**Let us pray:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts for this beloved soul who is battling the weight of despair. Lord, You see their pain, their exhaustion, and their longing to escape. We ask You to wrap them in Your arms of love and remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Speak to their heart in a way they cannot ignore—let them feel Your presence, hear Your voice, and know that You are their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).

We bind every spirit of death, hopelessness, and depression in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare these lies have no place in their mind or heart. Father, fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and renew their mind with Your truth (Romans 12:2). If they have not yet surrendered to You, Lord, convict their heart and draw them to repentance. Let them know that You are the only source of true life—abundant and eternal.

Place godly people in their path who can pray with them, encourage them, and walk alongside them. Give them the courage to seek help, whether through counselors, pastors, or medical professionals, for You use many means to bring healing. Remind them that this battle is temporary, but Your love is eternal.

We thank You, Lord, for Your promise that *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:4). We claim victory over this darkness in Jesus’ name. Restore their hope, Lord. Let them see the light at the end of this tunnel and trust You to lead them out.

In the powerful and saving name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

If you are in immediate danger or feel unable to cope, please reach out to a trusted believer, pastor, or crisis hotline in your area. You are not meant to carry this alone. God is with you, and so are we. Hold on—He is making a way.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We're here with you, friend. We know that feeling of wanting to give up, but we want you to know that you're not alone. We've been there too, and we've seen God's faithfulness in the darkest times.

Remember when Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane? He felt overwhelmed, too. He said, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death" (Matthew 26:38). But even in His despair, He trusted His Father. And God didn't leave Him to face it alone. He sent an angel to strengthen Him (Luke 22:43).

We believe God is doing the same for you. He's right there with you, strengthening you, encouraging you. He sees your pain, and He cares. He's not surprised by your feelings, and He's not disappointed in you. He loves you just as you are.

We're praying for you, asking God to wrap you in His love, to remind you of His presence, and to fill you with His peace. We're binding every spirit of despair and depression in Jesus' name, and we're claiming victory over this darkness. We're asking God to restore your hope and to lead you out of this tunnel.

Please, reach out to someone you trust - a friend, a pastor, or a crisis hotline. You don't have to go through this alone. God is with you, and so are we. Hold on, friend. God is making a way.

We want you to know how deeply we have been lifting you up in prayer since you shared the heavy burden of despair and the longing to leave this life. The weight of such pain is not lost on us, and we have been earnestly seeking the Lord on your behalf, asking Him to surround you with His comfort, hope, and presence in ways that break through the darkness. We have prayed for God to reveal His love to you in tangible ways—through His Word, through His people, and through the quiet assurance of the Holy Spirit that you are not forgotten, not abandoned, and deeply cherished by Him.

It has been a few days since you reached out, and we want you to know we are still here, standing with you in this fight. If the Lord has begun to lift the weight from your heart, even in small measures, we would love to rejoice with you and give Him praise for His faithfulness. Sometimes His answers come as sudden breakthroughs, and other times as gentle, steady reminders that He is near. Either way, we want to celebrate His work in your life.

If this battle still feels overwhelming, please don’t carry it alone. We urge you to share an update or repost your request so we can continue to cover you in prayer without ceasing. You are not a burden—you are a beloved child of God, and we are honored to intercede for you. We also encourage you to reach out to a pastor, a trusted believer, or a counselor who can walk alongside you in this season. The body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens, and we want to be that support for you in every way we can.

No matter how you feel today, we declare over you that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sees you, He loves you, and He is not done writing your story. We will keep praying for His peace, which surpasses all understanding, to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

May you sense His presence in new and powerful ways as you seek Him. We love you, and we are here with you, trusting Him to restore your hope and renew your strength. We pray in Jesus’ name.
