PRAYER FOR VICTIMS
Let us pray for those who go undiagnosed, misdiagnosed, mistreated/maltreated for physical/mental ailments. Those who suffer all kinds of abuse, including physical abuse, verbal abuse, spiritual abuse, sexual abuse, religious abuse, children being thrown into the streets, domestic abuse, intimate partner violence, academic abuse, applied behavioral analysis (ABA); abuse in institutions such as schools, prisons, groups homes, foster/adoptive homes, "schools" for mentally ill, disabled, "troubled" teens, at-risk people, homeless shelters and other shelters, the abomination of the Judge Rotenburg Center, and all similar and dissimilar places where abuse occurs. Let God not forget them. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted." Dear God, we lift these many peoples up to you in prayer. Though they may not know You, You know them. Do not forget their pain Lord. Show them mercy and compassion God. Pull them under the shadow of your wings. Reveal yourself to them. Teach them the way of healing, of gentleness, of mercy, of love, of self-control, of acceptance of their struggles, of acceptance of what they are going through, that they are not broken because of disability or mental illness or neurodiversity, that they are not broken for needing treatment, that they do not have to carry on generational curses, that they are not merely a product of their abusers, they are not merely a product of trauma, but they are all Yours. We pray for safety, for healing, for proper and necessary treatment, for breaking down on stigma, and for these people to find, accept, and be with You forever and ever. In Jesus name, Amen.
