Let us come together to lift up this individual in prayer, seeking God's intervention and deliverance from the bondage of alcohol. We stand on the promise of God's Word, which tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Firstly, we must address the absence of Jesus Christ or his name in this request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 WEB says "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Drinking alcohol in excess is condemned in the Bible. Ephesians 5:18 WEB says, "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." We need to pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit, not alcohol.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this person who is struggling with alcohol. We pray that You would break the chains of addiction and set them free. Give them the strength and resolve to resist the temptation to drink.
Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, guiding them in all truth and wisdom. Surround them with supportive believers who can encourage and hold them accountable. We pray as well for their soul. May this bondage drive them to seek You and Your word more. May they believe on Jesus Christ and his resurrection as the only means of salvation. May this drinking problem become a blessing as they turn from it and seek You.
We rebuke the enemy's hold on their life and declare victory in Jesus' name. We pray for complete healing and restoration, not only physically but also spiritually and emotionally. May they find hope, comfort, and freedom in You.
Father, lead them to a relationship with Jesus Christ. May they find salvation in Jesus and have a changed life. May they truly repent of this sin and find a new life in Jesus. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage this individual to take practical steps towards recovery, such as seeking professional help, joining a support group, and immersing themselves in a community of believers who can offer encouragement and accountability. We also want to encourage them to seek God for salvation and live the life that God intended for them.
Isaiah 41:10 WEB states, "Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."
God is able, and we trust in His power to bring deliverance and freedom.
As a final thought, Galatians 5:1 WEB says "Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don't be entangled again with a yoke of bondage." We pray they understand the liberty that Jesus Christ gives and that they can be free from any bondage. We decree this in Jesus' name. Amen.
