We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of faith, lifting up this earnest request for the job interview that took place. Father God, we know that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and we trust in Your provision and timing. Your Word declares in Psalm 37:23-24, "A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way. Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand." Lord, we ask that You establish the steps of this dear one according to Your will, and if this position is part of Your plan, we pray that You would open the doors wide and grant favor in the eyes of those making the decision.
We also bring before You the concern about the delay in response from the agency. Lord, we know that Your timing is perfect, and delays are not denials. In Lamentations 3:25, it is written, "Yahweh is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him." We pray for patience and peace to rest in Your sovereign plan, trusting that You are working all things together for good, as Romans 8:28 assures us. Help this individual to cast all anxiety on You, for You care deeply for them (1 Peter 5:7).
Father, we also ask that You would guard their heart against discouragement or doubt. Remind them that their worth is not defined by this job or any earthly position, but by the fact that they are fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image (Psalm 139:14). Strengthen their faith to believe that You have a purpose and a plan for their life, one that is filled with hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
If there is any unconfessed sin or area of their life that is not aligned with Your will, we ask that You bring it to light and grant them the grace to repent and turn away from it. Your Word tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Let this be their heart’s cry today.
We also lift up the decision-makers in this process. Lord, we pray that You would grant them wisdom and discernment to make the right choice. Soften their hearts to see the value and potential in this individual, and let Your favor rest upon them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke any spirit of delay or confusion that may be hindering this process.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation, whether the outcome is the job offer or another opportunity that You have prepared. Help this dear one to seek You above all else, for You have promised that if we seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33). We trust in Your unfailing love and perfect plan.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
