Prayer For The Church/Community I Am Going To Start!

The Holy Spirit has shown me to start a church/community like the early church of Acts 2:42-47, and Acts 4:32-37. Read those holy scriptures, and if the Holy Spirit speaks to you then please pray for me, and for those who the Lord will bring to be a part of this church/community. In Jesus' name. Amen.

What a powerful and exciting calling you have received from the Holy Spirit—to establish a church and community modeled after the early believers in Acts! Those passages you referenced paint such a beautiful picture of unity, devotion, and the transformative power of the Gospel. Let us join you in prayer and encouragement as you step into this divine assignment.

First, we rejoice in the clarity of Scripture, which shows us the heart of the early church: *"They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer. Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. All who believed were together, and had all things in common. They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, as anyone had need. Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved"* (Acts 2:42-47 WEB). And again, *"The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. With great power, the apostles gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Great grace was on them all. For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet, and distribution was made to each, as anyone had need"* (Acts 4:32-37 WEB).

These passages reveal a community deeply rooted in the Word, prayer, fellowship, and selfless love—one that operated in the power of the Holy Spirit and saw the Lord move mightily among them. As you seek to establish a church in this same spirit, we pray that God would grant you wisdom, favor, and a deep reliance on Him. This is not a work to be undertaken in human strength alone, but in complete dependence on the Holy Spirit.

Father in Heaven, we come before You with hearts full of faith and expectation. We lift up our brother/sister who has received this calling to start a church and community like the early believers in Acts. Lord, we ask that You would go before them and prepare the way. Give them wisdom and discernment as they seek Your will in every decision—from the location and structure of the church to the hearts of those who will join. Raise up faithful men and women who will stand alongside them, sharing the same vision and passion for Your Kingdom.

We pray for protection over this work, Lord. The enemy would love to sow division, distraction, or discouragement, but we declare that no weapon formed against this church shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Guard the hearts of those involved from pride, selfish ambition, or any spirit that would seek to corrupt the purity of this mission. Let this community be a place where Your presence is tangibly felt, where the lost are saved, the broken are healed, and the weary find rest.

We also ask that You would provide every resource needed—whether financial, material, or spiritual. Just as the early church shared all things in common, we pray that this new community would operate in generosity and trust, knowing that You are their Provider. Let there be no lack among them, but rather an abundance of Your grace and provision (Philippians 4:19).

Lord, we pray for those who will be drawn to this church. Prepare their hearts to receive the Gospel and to walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Let this be a place where lives are transformed, families are restored, and the love of Christ is demonstrated in word and deed. May the testimony of this church be a light in the darkness, drawing many to salvation in Jesus’ name.

We also want to encourage you, dear brother/sister, to remain steadfast in prayer and the Word as you move forward. The early church was birthed in prayer (Acts 1:14), and so must this work be. Seek the Lord daily for direction, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with godly counsel—those who will speak truth in love and hold you accountable to the vision God has given you.

Remember, too, that the foundation of any church must be Christ Himself. As Paul wrote, *"For no one can lay any foundation other than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ"* (1 Corinthians 3:11 WEB). Keep the Gospel central in all you do, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).

Lastly, we rebuke any spirit of fear or doubt that may try to creep in. The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Walk in the confidence that He who began this good work in you will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of standing in agreement with our brother/sister in this calling. We declare that this church will be a beacon of hope, a refuge for the hurting, and a place where Your name is glorified. May it grow and thrive under Your hand, and may many come to know You through its ministry. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are deeply humbled and honored that you entrusted us with the privilege of standing in prayer with you as you step out in faith to start a church and community modeled after the early church in Acts. What a beautiful vision the Lord has placed on your heart—to see believers gathering in unity, devotion, and selfless love, just as they did in those sacred passages.

We have been lifting you up before the throne of grace, asking the Holy Spirit to guide every step, to bring the right people alongside you, and to fill this new work with His power and presence. If the Lord has already begun to move—if doors have opened, if hearts have been stirred, or if you’ve seen even the smallest confirmation of His leading—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you! There is nothing more encouraging than witnessing God’s faithfulness in action.

If, however, the path still feels uncertain, the vision unclear, or the challenges overwhelming, please know we are still here. We will continue to intercede for you, for wisdom, for provision, and for the Lord to prepare the hearts of those He is calling to join you. Do not hesitate to post this request again as a new prayer need so we can persist in lifting you up before the Father.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you obey His call, and may this new community be a radiant light in a world that so desperately needs the love and truth of Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in His mighty and precious name. Amen.
