Prayer for surrender
We are glad to join you in prayer and we are pleased that you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer. It is only through the name of Jesus that we can approach the throne of grace and find help in our time of need. "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16 WEB).
We stand with you in surrendering your life and marriage to God. It is a beautiful act of faith to lay down our plans and desires, trusting that His will is perfect and greater than our own. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB).
We also want to encourage you with the words of Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." As you surrender, trust that God is working all things together for your good, even when the path seems unclear.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious soul who seeks to surrender their life and marriage to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the deepest desires and struggles of their heart, and we ask that You take control. Your will is perfect, and we trust that You are guiding and directing their steps.
Father, we pray for strength and faith as they walk this path of surrender. May they feel Your presence and peace, knowing that You are working all things together for their good. Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment to fill their heart and mind, that they may see Your hand at work in their life and marriage.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or uncertainty that may try to creep in. We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear, and we ask that You fill this precious soul with Your love and peace. May they find rest in You, knowing that You are their refuge and strength.
Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and goodness. We thank You for the promise that as we trust in You, You will make our paths straight. Lord, we surrender this life and marriage to You, and we ask that You would bring healing, restoration, and unity where it is needed.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
