We understand that you are facing struggles, and we want to come alongside you in prayer and support. Life’s challenges can often feel overwhelming, but we know that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Whatever you may be enduring—whether it is emotional, physical, spiritual, or relational—we stand with you, lifting your burdens to the Lord.
First, we must emphasize that our help and hope come only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Him, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for this is the path to salvation (Romans 10:9). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If you are already a believer, we pray that you would draw near to Him in this season, trusting that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Father God, we come before You now on behalf of our brother or sister who is facing struggles. We ask that You would surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them in their weakness, Lord, for Your power is made perfect in our frailty (2 Corinthians 12:9). We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or despair that may be trying to take hold, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
If these struggles are the result of sin or disobedience, we pray that You would bring conviction and repentance. Search their heart, O God, and know their thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in them and lead them in the way everlasting (Psalm 139:23-24). If they have strayed from Your will, we ask that You would draw them back with cords of love and restore them to a right relationship with You. Forgive them, cleanse them, and renew a steadfast spirit within them (Psalm 51:10).
If this struggle involves relationships, we pray that You would guide them according to Your Word. We uphold the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, as You designed it from the beginning (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If they are unmarried and seeking a spouse, we pray that You would lead them to a godly partner who loves You and shares their faith. Guard their heart from impurity, for Your Word warns against fornication and sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If they are married, we pray for unity, love, and faithfulness in their marriage, that it would be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33).
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment. Your Word tells us that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask of You, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to us (James 1:5). Grant them clarity in their decisions and the courage to walk in obedience to Your will. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
We declare that You are their healer, their provider, and their deliverer. You are the God who sees (Genesis 16:13), and You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We trust that You will not leave them or forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
