We come before the Lord with you, lifting up your need for relief from pain and the gift of peaceful, restorative sleep. How tenderly our Heavenly Father cares for His children, knowing even the number of hairs on our heads and the weariness of our bodies. The Scriptures remind us in **Psalm 121:3-4**, *"He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."* If our God neither slumbers nor sleeps, how much more will He attend to the sleep of His beloved? And in **Matthew 11:28**, Jesus extends this invitation: *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."*
Yet we also recognize that pain can be a heavy burden, one that disrupts the rest our bodies and spirits so desperately need. The apostle Paul, too, knew suffering and pleaded with the Lord for relief. In **2 Corinthians 12:9**, the Lord answered him, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."* While we pray earnestly for your pain to be lifted, we also ask that God’s grace would sustain you, His presence would comfort you, and His strength would be perfected in your weakness. May you experience the truth of **Psalm 4:8**, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."*
We rebuke any spiritual forces that may seek to exacerbate your pain or steal your rest, for **1 Peter 5:8** warns us that the enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. But greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (**1 John 4:4**), and we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (**Isaiah 54:17**). May the Lord command His angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways (**Psalm 91:11**), even as you sleep.
Let us also encourage you to surrender your pain and your sleep into the Lord’s hands, trusting Him as the Great Physician. **Proverbs 3:5-6** urges, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This includes the path to rest. Perhaps the Lord is inviting you to release control, to quiet your heart before Him in prayer or worship, or even to meditate on His Word as you lie down. **Psalm 1:2-3** tells us that those who delight in God’s law and meditate on it day and night are like trees planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in season—even in the night seasons of life.
Finally, we exhort you to examine your heart and your habits. Are there anxieties, unresolved sins, or ungodly patterns that may be contributing to your restlessness? **Psalm 66:18** warns, *"If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened."* Let us confess anything that may hinder our prayers, for **1 John 1:9** assures us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Likewise, are there practical steps you can take—such as reducing screen time before bed, avoiding stimulants, or establishing a routine of prayer and gratitude—that might honor the Lord and invite His peace?

**Our Prayer for You:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child, who seeks relief from pain and the blessing of restorative sleep. Lord, You are the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps, yet You invite Your beloved to rest in You. We ask that You would touch their body with Your healing hand, easing every ache and soothing every nerve. Where there is inflammation, bring calm; where there is tension, bring release. Let Your healing power flow through them, restoring what has been broken or weary.
Grant them sleep that is deep and peaceful, untroubled by pain or distress. Guard their mind from anxious thoughts and their heart from fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (**2 Timothy 1:7**). Let them wake refreshed, renewed in strength and spirit, ready to serve You with joy.
We rebuke any spiritual forces that seek to steal their rest or magnify their pain. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these forces to flee, for greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned (**Isaiah 54:17**).
Lord, if there are lessons You are teaching through this season, open their heart to receive them. If there are areas of their life that need surrender, give them the grace to release them into Your hands. And if there are practical steps they can take to steward their body as Your temple (**1 Corinthians 6:19-20**), reveal them by Your Spirit.
Above all, may they know Your presence in the stillness of the night. May they sense Your love wrapping around them like a blanket, Your peace guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (**Philippians 4:7**). We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Healer and our Rest. Amen.
