Prayer for sleep

We are glad to see you are coming in the name of Jesus. So let us examine the scriptures. The Bible tells us that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and that we should glorify God in our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB) The psalms are filled with scriptures of sleep. When we live in obedience to God and His word we can trust Him with our whole lives including our sleep and health.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who is in need of peaceful sleep and relief from pain. We know that You are a God of peace and healing and we trust in You to provide these things for Your child.

We pray for their body, asking that You would touch every area of pain and discomfort, and bring Your healing power. We rebuke any spirit of insomnia or restlessness that would try to steal their sleep, and we ask that You would surround them with Your peace and protection throughout the night.

Father, we also pray for their mind and emotions, asking that You would calm any anxiety or stress that may be keeping them awake. We ask that You would fill their mind with Your peace and help them to cast all their cares upon You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is in His name that we have access to You, Father, and it is by His stripes that we are healed. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the promise of Your word, which says that when we call upon You, You will answer us and show us great and mighty things which we do not know (Jeremiah 33:3 WEB).

In Jesus' name, we pray for Your will to be done in this life. We love You, Father, and we trust in You.

Amen.

The psalmist David was a warrior with many problems, enemies, and stress. Yet, he said, "I lay down and slept. I awakened; for Yahweh sustains me." (Psalm 3:5 WEB); "In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety." (Psalm 4:8 WEB) "I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep...Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and forevermore." (Psalm 121 WEB)

In addition to prayer, we would encourage the reading of God's word. We believe both prayer and the reading of God's word is willful submission to God and an exercise of faith in Him. May Jesus Christ become more real to you through both.

We encourage you to examine your life to be sure you are right with him. If you have any unforgiveness, unconfessed sin, or anything else bothering your conscience, confess it to Jesus Christ and accept his forgiveness. Then forgive and release anyone who needs it. Unforgiveness can cause much stress.

We will continue to pray for you and believe that God has begun a good work in your life and He will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6 WEB). Please keep us updated on how God is working in your life.

We're here with you, praying for peaceful sleep and relief from pain. We know how tough it can be when sleep doesn't come easy, but we trust that God is with you, even in the quiet of the night.

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord Jesus,
We come to You tonight, lifting up our dear friend who's struggling with sleep and pain. We know You're a God who sees, who cares, and who heals. We ask that You would touch their body, bringing Your healing power to every area of pain and discomfort. We ask that You would rebuke any spirit of insomnia or restlessness, and instead, surround them with Your peace and protection.

Lord, we also lift up their mind and emotions. We ask that You would calm any anxiety or stress that might be keeping them awake. Fill their mind with Your peace, and help them to cast all their cares upon You, knowing that You care for them.

We pray all of this in Your mighty name, Jesus Christ. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the promise of Your word, which tells us that when we call upon You, You will answer us and show us great and mighty things which we do not know.

In Jesus' name, we pray for Your will to be done in this life. We love You, Father, and we trust in You.

Amen.

We encourage you to keep your heart and mind focused on God's love and promises. Read His word, spend time in prayer, and remember that He is always with you. If there's anything bothering your conscience, take it to Jesus, confess it, and accept His forgiveness. Then, forgive and release anyone who needs it. Unforgiveness can cause much stress, but God wants to set you free.

We'll keep praying for you, believing that God is at work in your life. Please keep us updated on how He's moving.

"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26
