Disciple of Prayer
Brothers and sisters I ask for your support in prayer that the department of rehabilitation will continue to assist me financially for my schooling after I relapsed, I am going to be calling the counselor in a couple of minutes I know that God is in control I also ask for a true repenting heart and to not let me be distracted by the things of this world to keep my eyes always on the Lord and his ways

We stand with you in this moment, lifting your request before the throne of grace with hearts full of compassion and truth. First, we praise God that you recognize His sovereignty, indeed, He is in control, and nothing escapes His loving purpose for your life. Your desire for a repentant heart and unwavering focus on the Lord is evidence of His work in you, drawing you back to Himself.

Relapse is a heavy burden, but Scripture reminds us that "a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise" (Psalm 51:17). We pray that your repentance would be deep and sincere, not just a fleeting sorrow, but a turning away from sin and toward the transforming power of Christ. The enemy would love to use this setback to discourage you, but we rebuke that lie in Jesus’ name. God’s mercy is greater than any failure, and His grace is sufficient to restore you (2 Corinthians 12:9).

As you call your counselor, we pray for favor and wisdom. May the Lord soften their heart toward your situation and grant you clarity in your conversation. Financial provision is a legitimate need, and we trust God to move on your behalf, whether through this department or another avenue He provides. Remember, "the Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1). He knows your needs before you ask, and He is faithful to provide.

Yet we must also address the spiritual battle at hand. Distractions and worldly temptations will come, but we declare that your eyes will remain fixed on Jesus, "the author and perfecter of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2). The things of this world, whether substances, relationships, or pursuits that lead you astray, have no power over you when you walk in the Spirit. We pray for divine strength to resist temptation and for godly accountability to surround you.

Above all, we remind you that your identity is not in your struggles or even your successes, but in Christ alone. You are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), redeemed by His blood, and called to walk in freedom. Let this truth anchor you as you press forward in your education and your faith.

Father God, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, asking for Your mercy and grace to overflow in this season. Heal the wounds that led to relapse, Lord, and replace them with Your peace. Grant wisdom to those in authority over this financial decision, and let Your provision be evident. Strengthen our brother/sister’s resolve to walk in holiness, and surround them with believers who will encourage and sharpen them. May their schooling not only equip them for their calling but also bring glory to Your name. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who breaks every chain and sets the captives free. Amen.

We’re praying with you as you make that call, right now, in this moment. God is indeed in control, and your step to reach out to the counselor shows that you’re not giving up. A relapse doesn’t erase all the progress you’ve made or the Lord’s hand on your life. It’s a hard detour, but many who have walked this path before you have found that getting back up and pressing forward with support leads to a deeper, more genuine dependence on Christ.

Your desire for a true repenting heart is already a gift from Him. The very fact that you long to keep your eyes on the Lord says that His Spirit is at work in you. When you talk to the counselor, be honest about where you are and what you need, both the financial help and the accountability to stay steady. That honesty is one of the ways God breaks the power of shame and brings new strength.

Once the call is done, think about one or two people in your life who could walk closely with you in the days ahead. Recovery isn’t meant to be a solo climb, and regular check-ins with someone who prays with you and reminds you of the truth can make all the difference. We’re standing with you.

Lord Jesus, we lift up our brother before You. Grant him favor with the counselor and open the door for the financial help he needs to continue his schooling. Above all, give him a heart that turns fully to You and finds its deepest satisfaction in You alone. Protect him from distractions and fill him with Your peace as he walks forward. In Your name.

The goodness of God in granting you this financial assistance for your schooling, even after a relapse, is a token of His mercy meant to lead you to true repentance. Do not treat such provision as license to continue in careless ways, but let the kindness of the Lord break your heart afresh. True repentance is no mere dread of hell nor a fleeting resolution; it is a thorough change of mind wrought by the Spirit, a loathing of the sin itself because it offends the God who has loved you with an everlasting love. And here is the wonder: this repentance is as much the gift of God as the pardon that follows. You cannot work it up in your own strength, cry to Him for it, and He will grant it for Christ’s sake.

Your relapse has shown you the emptiness of the world’s distractions. Let that sharp lesson be sanctified by the sovereignty of God, who ordains even our stumbles to teach us our absolute dependence upon His grace. Fix your eyes upon Jesus, not upon the counselor’s decision, nor upon your own resolves. Faith and repentance are inseparable twins: the one pulls down the house of self-trust, the other builds upon Christ the solid rock. If your repentance drives you to cling more tightly to the cross, where the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin, it is repentance unto life. But if it leaves you merely frightened and self-reforming, it needs to be repented of.

Go now to the throne of grace, pleading no merits of your own, but the lovingkindness of God in Christ. Cast yourself upon Him as nothing, and He will lift you up. And as you receive His help for your schooling, let it be a reminder that He has taught you from your youth and is still your faithful Instructor. Declare His wondrous works, and let your daily walk demonstrate a repentance that lasts, practical and godly, that glorifies His sovereignty in mercy. The same Lord who holds the heart of the counselor is the One who holds your soul. Trust Him for both the earthly provision and the heavenly grace; He will not fail you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request reveals two things: the worldly need for financial help, and the deeper hunger for a true repenting heart. The second is far weightier, and on it the first truly hinges. For God is long-suffering, not to give license to sin again, but to draw you to a repentance that transforms. When you relapsed, His mercy did not vanish; yet that mercy is a call to die to sin, not to presume upon grace. As for the prayers of the saints, they have great power, but only on condition of your own repentance and amendment. Even Moses could not deliver his sister when she did despite him, and Esau found no place for repentance though he sought it with tears, because his sorrow was of the world, not of God. True repentance is a turning that con-demns the old ways, a death to sin that makes way for Christ to live in you. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.” That is not mere feeling sorry; it is a new life where your members are mortified, where every distraction of this world is counted as dead, and your eyes are fixed solely on the Lord. This is the repentance that knows no regret.

Make no mistake: if after the grace of Baptism or after a restoration, you let sin revive, you are the ruin of your new life. God wants you to live to Him, not just to escape the consequences. So approach this phone call and every prayer not gaping and listless, but with the earnestness of Peter, who went out and wept bitterly and was forgiven even before the Sacrifice was finished. Do not ask for earthly support while clinging to the things that caused your fall. Reckon yourself dead to sin and alive to God, and then His aid, whether through the department or other means, becomes secondary. The Father knows your needs. But what does it profit you to gain financial help and lose your soul? Let this moment be the godly sorrow that works repentance to salvation. The Lord will assist you, for there is no sin that yields not to the power of true repentance, or rather to the grace of Christ, if you choose what is best and draw God to your aid by your own willing amendment.
