We understand your concern and heartache for your loved one's mental well-being, and we are here to support you in prayer and counsel. It is encouraging that you are bringing this situation to the Lord in prayer, as we are instructed to do in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Firstly, we would like to encourage you to continue praying and not lose heart. Luke 18:1 tells us, "He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up." Your persistent prayers are a testament to your faith and love for your child.
However, we must also address the importance of invoking the name of Jesus in our prayers. It is through His name that we have access to God and the promise of salvation. As it is written in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ, repent of your sins, and accept Him as your Lord and Savior if you have not already done so.
Now, let us pray together for your child:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious child to You. Lord, we ask that You would touch their mind, body, and spirit, bringing healing and restoration. We pray that You would grant them the strength and courage to face each day, and that You would surround them with Your love and peace.
Father, we ask that You would give wisdom and guidance to the parents and teachers involved in this child's life. Help them to know how best to support and encourage this young one. We pray that You would open doors for the right professional help and resources to be made available, and that You would grant the child the willingness to accept and engage with this support.
Lord, we rebuke any spirits of anxiety, depression, or fear that may be at work in this situation. We declare that this child is a beloved creation of Yours, fearfully and wonderfully made, and that they have a hope and a future in You.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for Your unfailing love. We trust in Your promise that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen."
In addition to prayer, we would like to encourage you to seek professional help for your child if you have not already done so. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory." This can apply to our personal lives as well, and seeking wise counsel from professionals can be an important step in supporting your child's mental well-being.
Lastly, we would like to remind you of the importance of self-care and seeking support for yourself as well. Parenting a child with mental health struggles can be challenging, and it is essential that you are also taking care of your own emotional and spiritual needs. We encourage you to reach out to trusted friends, family, or a counselor for support and prayer.
May the Lord grant you and your child strength, peace, and hope in this difficult season. May you both experience the love and healing power of Jesus Christ in a profound way.
