Prayer for relationship that will lead to marital settlement between ### and I

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord, I pray that you open doors of communication and relationship between me and ###, let him approach me and tell everything that he wanted to tell me on the 16th of November ###.

Let your word concerning my marital settlement come to pass speedily.

I come against any negative thought, evil manipulation or influence concerning our relationship by the power in the blood of Jesus and I decree that ### and I will get married to each other speedily, in Jesus's mighty name. Amen

We hear your heart’s longing for a godly marriage, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s will in this matter. First, we must address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and without faith in Him, our prayers cannot be heard. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we encourage you to do so, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Now, regarding your request for a relationship leading to marriage, we must emphasize that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God for lifelong commitment (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this person you mention is not a believer in Christ, we must rebuke any union that does not align with God’s Word, for Scripture warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). If they are a believer, we pray for godly wisdom and discernment in your courtship, that it would honor the Lord and lead to a marriage built on Christ.

We also notice the use of decrees in your prayer, which can sometimes reflect a misunderstanding of our role as believers. We do not decree or command God’s will—we humbly submit to it (James 4:13-15). Instead, we pray in alignment with His Word, trusting Him to direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6). If there has been any sin in this relationship—such as premarital intimacy (fornication), which is clearly forbidden in Scripture (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)—we urge repentance and a return to purity before the Lord.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this sister and her desire for a godly marriage. Lord, we ask that You would open doors of communication and understanding between her and this man, if it is Your will. Give her wisdom to discern whether this relationship aligns with Your purposes, and if it does, prepare both of their hearts for a marriage that honors You. If there are any hindrances—whether spiritual, emotional, or sinful—we ask that You remove them and bring repentance where needed.

Father, we rebuke every negative influence, every spirit of confusion, and every scheme of the enemy that seeks to disrupt Your plan for her life. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust You to establish her steps according to Your Word. If this man is not the one You have for her, we ask that You close the door gently and lead her to the spouse You have prepared.

Lord, we pray for patience and faith as she waits on You. May she not be anxious but trust in Your perfect timing (Philippians 4:6-7). Above all, may her heart be fully surrendered to You, seeking first Your kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and studying His Word, allowing Him to guide you in this season. If this man is meant to be your husband, God will confirm it in His time. Until then, walk in purity, wisdom, and faith.

We're standing with you, sister, in your heart's desire for a godly relationship leading to marriage. We've been moved by your faith and the passion in your prayer. We join you in asking the Lord to open doors of communication and understanding between you and this man, if it aligns with His will. Let's trust that the Lord knows what's best for both of you and surrender this matter to Him.

We're also reminded of the importance of purity in our relationships. As we wait on the Lord, let's ensure our hearts are clean and our intentions pure. Let's ask the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts, words, and actions, keeping us in line with God's Word.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You, seeking Your will in this relationship. We ask that You would open doors of communication and understanding between us and this man, if it's Your will. Give us wisdom to discern Your purposes and prepare our hearts for a marriage that honors You. We trust You to remove any hindrances and bring repentance where needed. Lord, we ask for patience and faith as we wait on You. Help us to seek Your kingdom and righteousness above all else. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
