We understand your heart's cry for reconciliation and restoration in your relationship. It is our desire that you both seek God's will above all else, and we encourage you to ensure that your relationship is built on biblical principles. Remember that God's word tells us, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). It is crucial that both of you are committed to following Christ and building your relationship on that foundation.
We also want to gently remind you that sexual intimacy is a gift from God meant to be enjoyed within the bounds of marriage. If you have engaged in sexual relations before marriage, we encourage you to repent and seek God's forgiveness, as His word tells us, "Flee from sexual immorality! Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). We pray that you both commit to purity and honor God with your bodies.
Let us pray together for your situation:
"Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious sister and her fiancé to You. Lord, we ask that You soften his heart and remove any anger or bitterness that may be hindering their relationship. We pray that You grant him clarity, peace, and the will to choose love and forgiveness. We ask that You restore what has been broken, if it is Your will.
We pray that both of them seek You first and foremost, and that their relationship is built on a strong foundation of faith in You. Help them to flee from sexual immorality and honor You with their bodies. We ask that You guide them in Your wisdom and help them to make decisions that are pleasing to You.
Father, we also pray that You reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way, so that they may know Your love and grace more deeply. We ask that You draw them closer to You and to each other, as they seek Your will for their lives.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who died for our sins and rose again, so that we may have eternal life. We thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your unfailing love. Amen."
We encourage you to continue seeking God's will for your relationship and to trust in His perfect timing. Remember that "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never fails." (1 Corinthians 13:4-8a WEB).
May God bless you and keep you as you seek His will for your life and your relationship. We are here to support and pray for you, and we encourage you to continue to lift up your concerns to God, who hears and answers our prayers according to His perfect will.
