We join you in bringing your marriage before the Lord and we thank God for your heart to see your marriage restored, strengthened and kept vibrant in love. Your desire for deep reconciliation, renewed curiosity, affection, romance and desire for one another within your marriage is beautiful and it aligns with God's design for marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman.

We agree with you that marriage is to be held in honor and that intimacy within marriage is holy, good and God given. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband as we read in 1 Cor 7:3. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, Heb 13:4. Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh, Gen 2:24, and what therefore God has joined together, let no man separate, Mark 10:9. We strongly endorse and rejoice in your commitment to guard your marriage and to seek fulfillment only with one another, for seeking entertainment or intimacy outside of marriage would be adultery and a breaking of the covenant, and we pray with you that the Lord will keep you both from temptation and draw you closer to each other.

We also notice that your prayer speaks of Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. So we come to God humbly in the name of Jesus, trusting in His death and resurrection for our forgiveness and reconciliation with God, and we encourage you to place your marriage and your own hearts fully under His lordship, believing that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, Rom 10:9.

We pray together for you and your husband now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this marriage to You. Lord, You see every wound, disappointment, rejection, misunderstanding and pain that has created distance, and we ask You to heal those places with Your grace. Renew tenderness, affection, communication, trust, desire and genuine love only for each other. Restore the sweetness, joy, passion, friendship and unity that You intended from the beginning. Help them to continue discovering each other and finding new ways to express their attraction in purity and love within their covenant. Keep their marriage from becoming emotionally or physically distant or predictable in a way that dulls love, and instead let their intimacy mature without losing its excitement. We ask You to break off every barrier standing against healthy marital intimacy, whether emotional, physical or sexual, and to make whole whatever is lacking. Teach them to make time often to communicate openly, to listen with grace, to forgive quickly, and to be intimate with joy and faithfulness. May husbands love their wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it, Eph 5:25, and may wives respect and cherish their husbands, so that their home reflects Your love. Guard their hearts and eyes from looking outside the marriage for fulfillment and keep their desire fixed only on one another. Let their love grow deeper with the years and let their unity be a testimony of Your redeeming power. We do not decree in our own authority, but we humbly ask according to Your will, trusting that You are able to work miracles and restore what has been broken. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to invest intentionally in your marriage. Make regular time to talk without distractions, to pray together, to show kindness and goodwill, to date one another, to speak words of affirmation, and to forgive as Christ forgave you. Keep curiosity alive by asking questions, listening well, and celebrating new seasons together. Guard your marriage by setting boundaries with outside influences and by keeping your emotional and physical affection exclusively for one another. The Lord delights in restoring and renewing what is surrendered to Him, and we trust He will continue His good work in your home as you seek Him together in Jesus name.

We were moved by your honest prayer for your marriage. Wanting to keep curiosity, affection and desire alive over the years is a beautiful and God honoring longing, and wanting to protect your home from distance or outside temptation shows real care for your husband and your vows.

One thing we have found helps couples who want that kind of closeness is making their marriage feel like the safest place on earth. When you both feel safe, hearts tend to open naturally, and tenderness, communication and physical affection can grow without being forced. When safety feels thin, hearts tend to close.

A simple place to start this week could be setting aside one unhurried time, phones away, to ask each other gently what helps you each feel safe, cherished and heard, and what makes it harder to open up. Just listening to understand, without fixing or defending, can rebuild a lot of trust.

We are praying for you both.

Father, we bring this marriage before You in Jesus' name. Heal past hurts and disappointments, soften any distance, and renew communication, trust and affection between them. Help them make faithful time for each other and grow in a love that is tender, faithful and joyful together. Amen.

Your prayer for the restoration of tenderness and true affection within the covenant of marriage is a holy and wise desire, and it is right to bring it before the Lord. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that within it the husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights with goodwill and kindness, and likewise the wife to her husband, as it is written in 1 Corinthians 7:3. This mutual giving in love is part of God's good purpose for the home.

Behold, the Lord desires truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part He shall make us to know wisdom. The outward springs from the inward, and no marriage is made whole by outward acts alone. If there has been distance, disappointment, rejection or misunderstanding that has wounded you both, bring first a broken and a contrite heart before God, for such sacrifices He will not despise. Come as poor souls heavy with need, and ask Him to search the heart and to renew it.

True religion is always a matter of desire, and where there is a holy desire, even if strength to carry it into action feels small, God accepts the desire itself. You have expressed a desire for renewed curiosity, affection, romance, and a pure desire for one another alone, that your intimacy might mature without losing its sweetness and joy. Cherish that desire and let it be a desire to fear God's name and to walk in His way within your marriage. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desire of your heart as that desire is conformed to His will.

Think of Peter's restoration. He was down, but he was soon up again, not by his own resolve, but by a look from the Lord and by Christ's own prayer for him. That look severed Peter from the crowd and broke his heart and then healed it. So the Lord can do for you. He who prayed for Peter prays still for His people, and He is able to restore what has been broken, to heal every wound, to soften what has grown hard, and to rekindle what has grown cold. He can make you better Christians afterwards than before, more tender, more forgiving, more attentive to one another.

Therefore let us pray together that the Lord will work this perfect restoration in your home. May He heal every wound and remove every barrier of resentment or neglect that stands against healthy communion. May He restore closeness where there has been emotional disconnection, and renew communication, trust, and genuine love for one another only. May He teach you both to make time often to speak openly and to give yourselves to one another in kindness, so that neither shall be tempted to look outside the marriage for what God intends to be found within it. May He keep your love from becoming predictable in a way that breeds distance, and instead deepen friendship, passion, and holy delight, that your intimacy may be sweet and joyful and kept pure before Him.

Seek first a deep desire after Christ Himself, for when Christ is the desire of the heart, all other loves are set in right order. Put your hand upon your heart and ask the Lord to create there a tenderness of repentance for the past and a holy desire for the future, and He will bring you to your desired haven in Him, and in that haven you shall find renewed love and unity together.

We ask the Lord to grant you double fold grace, to make your marriage whole, to establish you in faithfulness, and to let your home be ordered in love and peace according to His purpose. May He keep you both and cause your affection to abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment, to the glory of His name. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest prayer for your marriage has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with thanksgiving for your desire to honor Him in this covenant.

God has given marriage as honorable and good, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman. Scripture teaches that natural desire was bestowed with a view to marriage, not outside of it, and that intimacy within marriage breeds attachment and deepens love. The apostle says in 1 Corinthians 7:3 that the husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights with goodwill and kindness, and likewise the wife to her husband. This mutual giving, in love and faithfulness, is part of holiness in marriage, which is chaste and orderly living together, keeping the marriage bed pure and guarding against any turning aside to another.

We pray with you that the Lord will heal every wound, disappointment, rejection and misunderstanding that has created distance between you and your husband, and that He will restore tenderness, affection, communication, trust and genuine love for one another alone. We ask Him to renew your curiosity for one another, to keep your affection and delight from fading, and to help you to make time often to talk, to listen, to show kindness and to share intimacy as husband and wife. As you have prayed, may every barrier to healthy emotional, physical and sexual closeness be broken, and may your home be strengthened in unity and friendship.

One of the ancient homilies reminds us that desire can fade when it is not tended, and that while the fire is warm we should kindle it more. In marriage this means choosing daily to turn toward one another, to speak with grace, to forgive quickly, to protect your time together, and to seek the good of the other above your own. In this way love matures without losing its joy, and remains both faithful and romantic.

We pray that God will keep you both from looking outside the marriage for entertainment or comfort, and that He will instead draw you closer to each other and to Christ, who is able to make whole what is lacking. May He restore the sweetness, joy and passion of your early love and cause it to grow deeper with the years, according to His purpose for your marriage and home.

Father, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to Your throne, that You would pour grace upon this husband and wife. Teach them to love each other as You have loved us, to be patient and kind, to bear with one another in love, and to keep their covenant with joy. Renew their communication, rekindle their desire for one another within the holy bounds of marriage, and let their intimacy be a reflection of faithful, self giving love. Amen.
