Prayer for protection people around me

Suillian

Disciple of Prayer
Someone is trying to spoil my name by gossiping about me all the time unable to take it anymore intentionally doing it. Trying to break my heart make me sit in a ideal I fed of this kind behaviour and they are back stabbing me

We hear the pain and frustration in your words, and we stand with you before the Lord, lifting up this heavy burden. Gossip is a destructive force, it tears down reputations, sows discord, and wounds deeply. Scripture warns us about the power of the tongue, for "the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell" (James 3:6 WEB). What you are enduring is not just personal conflict; it is a spiritual attack meant to isolate you, discourage you, and turn others against you.

First, we must address the heart behind this situation. While it is painful to be slandered, we are called to respond in a way that honors Christ. Jesus Himself endured false accusations and malicious words, yet He did not retaliate or seek vengeance. Instead, He entrusted Himself to the Father, who judges justly (1 Peter 2:23 WEB). We must guard our own hearts from bitterness, for "see to it that no one falls short of the grace of God, and that no root of bitterness springs up to cause trouble, and by it many become defiled" (Hebrews 12:15 WEB). Vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19 WEB), and He will repay those who persist in evil.

We also rebuke the spirit of gossip and slander in the name of Jesus Christ. The enemy seeks to use division and lies to destroy unity and trust, but we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). We pray that the Lord would expose the truth and silence the mouths of those who spread falsehoods. "For the Lord loves justice and doesn't forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off" (Psalm 37:28 WEB).

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who was despised and rejected, yet did not open His mouth in retaliation. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is enduring the pain of gossip and slander. You see the hurt, the frustration, and the weariness in their heart. We ask that You would be their shield and defender. Surround them with Your presence and remind them that their worth is found in You alone, not in the opinions of others.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of gossip and division that is at work here. Let the words spoken against them fall to the ground, and let the truth be revealed. We pray that You would soften the hearts of those who are spreading lies and open their eyes to the harm they are causing. If there is any truth in the accusations, Lord, reveal it to them so they may repent and seek reconciliation. If these are baseless lies, we ask that You would silence the mouths of those who speak them.

Lord, we ask that You would fill our brother/sister with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Guard their heart from bitterness and resentment, and help them to respond with grace and wisdom. Give them the strength to forgive those who have wronged them, just as You have forgiven us. Remind them that You are their vindicator, and You will not let injustice go unanswered.

We also pray for divine protection over their reputation. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let those who hear the gossip see it for what it is, lies and deceit. Raise up godly friends and mentors who will stand by them and speak truth into their life. Give them the courage to walk in integrity, even when others do not.

Father, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). We trust in Your justice and Your timing. Strengthen their faith and help them to fix their eyes on You, the Author and Finisher of their faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB).

In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to the truth of God's Word. This trial is not in vain, it is an opportunity to grow in patience, humility, and dependence on the Lord. Remember, "Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven" (Matthew 5:11-12 WEB). The enemy may intend this for harm, but God can turn it around for your good and His glory (Genesis 50:20 WEB).

If possible, seek wise counsel from a pastor or trusted believer who can help you navigate this situation with godly wisdom. Do not isolate yourself, for the enemy thrives in secrecy and loneliness. Draw near to the Lord, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8 WEB). You are not alone in this battle, we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord fights for you.

We are so sorry you’re going through this, it’s exhausting and deeply wounding when someone seems determined to tear you down. You’ve named something real: the ache of being misrepresented, the sting of betrayal. It makes sense that you’re fed up.

Sometimes people project their own inner struggles onto others, or they gossip because it gives them a momentary sense of power. That doesn’t justify the hurt, but it can remind us that their words say more about them than about who you actually are. Your worth is anchored in Christ’s love, not in anyone’s opinion, even when the noise feels overwhelming.

You don’t have to carry this alone. Consider sharing the burden with a mature Christian you trust, a pastor, a mentor, or a wise friend who can offer perspective and help you decide if any step toward confronting the gossip is needed. They can also simply stand with you in prayer, which often brings unexpected clarity and peace. While you wait on that direction, give yourself permission to step back from interactions that stir up more pain. It’s not weakness; it’s wisdom.

Lord Jesus, you see what’s hidden and know what’s true. Shield our friend from the weight of false words, renew a sense of security that rests in you, not in what others say. Heal the heartbreak and quiet the turmoil. Grant wisdom for any next steps, and if it be your will, soften the heart of the one who gossips. Surround your child with your steadfast love, and give the courage to walk through this without bitterness. In your name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Slander is a bitter cup, but it has been drunk by far better men than you or me. Do not cry out as though some strange thing had happened to you. The disciple is not above his Master, if they called the Master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they malign those of His household? When you are falsely accused, remember that your character is in the keeping of God, not in the wagging tongues of men. He will vindicate you in His own time, and until then, it is your part to walk in quietness and confidence, committing your cause to Him who judges righteously.

Now consider this, are you walking in the King's Highway? He who travels there is under the King's protection, but he who turns aside into crooked paths of self-defense, bitter resentment, or returning evil for evil must protect himself. And I fear he will meet with robbers who will make him rue the day. If you go in the way of truth, clinging to righteousness as with hooks of steel, you may expect Divine protection. But if you stoop to answer folly with folly, you step off the path and forfeit the guard of angels. Stand still. Be silent. Let the Lord fight for you.

Childlike trust in Providential guidance is your sweetest shelter now. Do not lean upon your own understanding, plotting how to clear your name or expose the backstabber. Wait upon God. Ask Him to guide your every word and step. He would not have charged His angels to keep you in all your ways if you did not need protection in all your ways, this trial included. The protection is perpetual, not just for the days of ease, but for this very hour of heartbreak.

So do not say in your heart, "Not so, Lord. I could bear anything but this." Let the Lord appoint you calumny or sickness, slander or solitude. He knows best. The rod you feel is in His hand, not theirs. They mean it for evil, but He means it for your good, to humble you, to drive you closer to His side, to teach you the fellowship of His sufferings. There is more true honor in bearing a false charge with quiet grace than in winning the applause of the whole world.

Somebody else, namely, your God, will take care of your reputation. Many of His saints have felt this sting before you, and their experience testifies that the Lord does not fail. Pour out your complaint before Him, then leave it there. Do not pick it up again. Go about your duty, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, and let the peace of Christ rule in your heart. The day is coming when hidden things will be brought to light, and every secret whisper will be shouted from the housetop. Until then, trust and be still.

Seest thou that those who speak evil of thee, even if what they say be true, heap up punishment for themselves? God is the one who will demand the account, not those who have heard. Upon thee they have brought evil report with men, but upon themselves they have incurred evil report with God. And what is this to thee, if others believe their words? Thy concern is not the opinion of the crowd, but the judgment of the Lord. Flee, then, from returning evil for evil; do not let their sin become thy own by dwelling on it with bitterness. We ought to shade over and conceal the failings of neighbors, but they parade slander under a cloak of zeal. Thou becomest not an accuser, but a gossip, a trifler, a fool. Let them be such, but do thou refuse to join them.

But thou sayest, I am unable to take it anymore. Then let thy refuge be prayer and a pure life. Though we have all faith and all knowledge of the Scriptures, yet if we be naked and destitute of the protection derived from holy living, there is nothing to hinder us from being hurried into the fire of hell. Manifest all eagerness not to mar the gain of right faith by the vileness of thy actions. Let no man say, I can do nothing; for thou canst even by one talent approve thyself. Contribute diligence and protection and all things for thy neighbor’s advantage, even for those who wrong thee. This is to live for the common good, and nothing is so pleasing to God.

I could wish my discourse to be ever of the place whence sorrow and sighing shall flee away, where He maketh us to lie down in green pastures. Set thy mind there, and the sting of their words will lose its power. For they cannot touch the peace Christ giveth.

The pain you are carrying is deep, and I want to speak to that directly. Someone is deliberately twisting your name, stabbing you in the back with words meant to crush your spirit. That is a cruel attack, and it mirrors the kind of heartbreak God himself expresses when his children wound one another. His desire is always to restore, to bind up the brokenhearted, not to thunder at you from a distance. He sees every whispered lie and every calculated retelling, and his truth stands as your unbreakable shield against them.

When slander fills the air around you, run to the fortress of your God. Picture the ancient canopy of protection he once placed around the earth, a covering that shielded life from harm. In the same way, he offers you a secret place under his wings, a refuge where the snares set by those who trap and destroy cannot reach you. Your safety is not in defending your own name but in dwelling in that hidden place. His truth, the solid reality of who he says you are, becomes your shield and buckler. Jesus himself deflected the enemy’s lies with the word of God, and you can do the same. When your thoughts repeat the gossip you have heard, answer them with what God has declared over you: you are loved, you are his, and no weapon formed against your standing in him will prosper.

The person who spills out constant slander is described in Scripture as a fool, for in a multitude of words sin is never far away. That does not lessen your hurt, but it reframes the attacker: they are like a blacksmith’s bellows burned out, fueled by corruption that consumes itself. Do not let their poison become your dwelling. When the instinct rises to step outside the walled city of God’s protection and go out into the open fields of self-justification, pull back. Stay inside the covering he has given you. Just as a veil once shielded a woman from approach and harm, God places a covering of honor over you that no gossip can finally penetrate unless you abandon it.

If this backbiting is happening within the community of faith, it is a grief that goes all the way back to the earliest days of the church. The counsel remains to mark those who cause such division, not with vengeance, but with a quiet boundary that refuses to let their words take root in your heart. You are not called to convince them or win a public hearing; sometimes the strongest act is to commit your cause silently to the one who judges righteously. Even the apostle Paul once sat in a dark prison, his life’s dream seeming shattered by slander and uproar, yet God never left him. That same darkness is not the end of your story.

So hear this as your covering: the Lord is your fortress, your place of strength. In him you can trust. He will deliver you from the snare of the birdman, from every hidden trap set for your soul. Let his truth catch every arrow. He has clothed you with a protection that no idle word can strip away. Take your heartbreak to him, for his own heart is broken over your pain, and he is laboring right now to form Christ more deeply in you through this trial. You are not sitting alone and forgotten; you are hidden in the shelter of the Most High.

We want you to know how much we appreciate the trust you placed in us by sharing your heavy burden. It has been on our hearts to lift you before the Lord every day since you posted, asking Him to surround you with His hedge of protection and to silence every lying tongue that rises against you. We’ve prayed that the Father would guard your reputation as carefully as He guards His own, and that He would give you peace that surpasses understanding in the midst of this trial.

If the Lord has already moved in this situation—if the gossip has ceased, if hearts have been softened, or if you’ve simply felt His peace settle over you—please share that praise with us so we can rejoice together. If, however, the battle continues and you still feel the weight of these words and actions, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to standing with you in prayer until the Lord brings full resolution and healing.

Above all, we pray that you would sense His nearness in a deeper way through this trial. May He remind you daily that your worth is found in Him alone, and that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. We ask these things in the powerful name of Jesus.
