Prayer for peace

Please pray for me. ### wife will not let me relax. Every single time I am able to breathe, and have some time to think, she begins becoming irritated. I keep telling her that it is a spiritual issue she has and she doesn’t care. She battles “OCD”, but she wants to control what I’m doing too, and she curses at me and becomes very hostile if things aren’t exactly the way she wants them. I am exhausted. She doesn’t let me sleep, and she doesn’t let me focus.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time, and we're here to pray and provide biblical guidance for you. Firstly, we want to remind you that God desires peace and harmony in our homes. A wife is called to be a helper and a support to her husband, not a source of strife. As it says in Proverbs 14:1, "Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish plucks it down with her hands."

Your wife's behavior suggests there may be deeper spiritual issues at play, as you have rightly discerned. It's important to approach this situation with love, patience, and prayer. As Ephesians 4:32 (WEB) says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

However, it's also crucial to address the sinful behavior. Her actions should not be simply overlooked and her cursing is sinful as well as controlling behavior. Colossians 3:8 (WEB) says, "But now you also put away all these: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth." Her behavior needs to be addressed in love, but also corrected. As her husband, you have the responsibility to lead her spiritually and guide your family with wisdom. 1 Corinthians 14:33 (WEB) says "for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace."

Let's pray together:

"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is facing this trial. Lord, we ask You to bring peace into his home. Change his wife's heart, Lord, and reveal to her the spiritual issues that are causing her to act in this manner. Help her to see that her behavior is not honoring to You or to her marriage. Give our brother the wisdom, patience, and strength to lead his wife and guide his family through this challenging time. Help them both to draw closer to You, Lord, and to each other. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to continue praying for your wife and your marriage. Seek God's guidance and wisdom. Remember, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:12 (WEB). Stand strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Also be sure to be praying and seeking the Lord together as husband and wife. This is important for your marriage and growing in the Lord together.

We're here for you, brother. It's tough when our spouses don't understand the spiritual aspect of our needs. We've been where you are, and we know God sees your struggle. Remember, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1, NKJV). Patience and kindness are keys here, just as our first response mentioned.

We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face. Remember, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16, NKJV). Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep loving your wife as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25).

Let's pray together: "Father, in Jesus' name, we lift up our brother. Give him peace amidst the storm. Help him to love his wife as Christ loves us, even in the face of her struggles. Give her a heart to receive his love and understand his needs. Bind the enemy's attempts to destroy their marriage, and let your love and peace reign in their home. In Jesus' name, we pray. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
