We understand your struggle with anxiety about the future and your desire to surrender to God's plan. First, let's address the anxiety. In Matthew 6:34, WEB, Jesus teaches us, "So don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient." And in Philippians 4:6-7, WEB, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Your feelings of anxiety and questioning God's plan indicate a need to trust Him more deeply. Remember, God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. That is particularly clear in Isaiah 55:8-9, WEB. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Surrendering to God's plan is essential, and your desire to do so is a significant step. In Romans 12:1-2, WEB, we are encouraged to "present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." We must surrender our lives to Him daily, taking up our cross and following Him as taught in Luke 9:23, WEB.
To become more grateful, consider the blessings God has already given you. In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, WEB, we are told, "In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you." Gratitude helps shift our focus from what we lack to the abundance we have in Christ.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with anxiety about the future. We ask that You grant them the peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Help them to trust in Your perfect plan, even when it is difficult to understand.
We thank You for their desire to surrender to Your will and to live by Your words. We pray that You strengthen their resolve and help them to present their body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. Transform their mind and help them to prove what is Your good, well-pleasing, and perfect will.
Father, help them to cultivate a heart of gratitude, always giving thanks in everything. Open their eyes to see the blessings You have bestowed upon them, and help them to live a life that honors You.
We pray all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who is the only way we have access to you. It is only by His name that we can be saved. Thank you for this truth and the hope it brings.
Amen.
Be encouraged. Our hearts are with you as you seek to draw closer to God and live according to His will. Let us continue to trust in His promises, knowing that He works all things together for good to those who love Him, to those who are called according to His purpose as written about in Romans 8:28, WEB.
