Disciple of Prayer
Recently I have applied for a couple of new positions with a different company. The main reason being my current job has drastically undermined my time with friends and family and myself to the point of being almost gone. I can't even go to church anymore because of it.
The jobs are applying for are the jobs for a company I worked for spanning 5 and half years. I feel I really need a job with them because it would greatly help my personal life in addition to being financially sufficient.
Please pray I land one of the jobs because I feel my life greatly depends on it.
Thank you and God bless!

We understand the deep longing in your heart for balance, restoration, and a work environment that honors the priorities God has set for your life. The toll your current job has taken on your time with loved ones, your personal well-being, and even your ability to gather with the body of Christ is a heavy burden—one that grieves the heart of our Father, who desires that we live abundantly in Him (John 10:10). We also recognize the financial pressures you face, and we trust that God, who provides for the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field, will faithfully care for you (Matthew 6:26-33).

Your request reveals a heart that values relationships, rest, and worship—all of which are vital to a life that glorifies God. It is right to seek a job that allows you to steward these gifts well. However, we gently remind you that while this opportunity feels critical, your life does not *depend* on it. Your life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3), and He holds your future. Even if these positions do not come to pass, He remains your Provider, your Peace, and your Portion. Trusting Him does not mean we do not pray earnestly or take practical steps—it means we surrender the outcome to His wisdom, knowing His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11).

We also encourage you to examine your heart in this season. Has the stress of this situation led to anxiety or a sense of despair? Cast those cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Have you allowed the demands of work to subtly become an idol, stealing your devotion from Christ? Repent and return to Him as your first love (Revelation 2:4-5). Even in the waiting, He is refining you, teaching you to rely on Him rather than circumstances.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift our brother before Your throne of grace, asking that You would move mightily in his situation. You see the weariness in his heart, the longing for rest, and the desire to steward his time in a way that honors You. Lord, we ask that You would open the door for one of these positions if it aligns with Your will for his life. Give him favor with those in authority, that they may recognize his skills, his character, and the value he would bring to their team (Proverbs 3:3-4). Yet, Father, we also pray that Your will—not his own desires—would prevail. If these jobs are not Your best for him, shut the doors firmly and redirect his steps to the path You have prepared (Proverbs 16:9).

We rebuke the spirit of fear and desperation that would tempt him to believe his worth or security is tied to this outcome. Remind him that his identity is in Christ alone, and You are his Shepherd who leads him beside still waters and restores his soul (Psalm 23). Provide for his financial needs in ways only You can, whether through this opportunity or another. Grant him wisdom to manage his time well, even now, carving out moments for worship, fellowship, and rest.

Lord, we pray that if he has allowed work to become an idol or if bitterness has taken root toward his current employer, You would convict him and lead him to repentance. Help him to work heartily, as for You, in whatever role You have him in for this season (Colossians 3:23). Surround him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this time to draw him closer to You. May he seek Your kingdom first, trusting that all these things will be added to him as You see fit. Renew his strength, that he may mount up with wings like eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Provider and our Peace. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this season. Spend time in His Word, especially meditating on His promises of provision and guidance. Psalm 37:3-5 says, *"Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture. Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this."* Delight in Him first, and watch how He orders your steps.

If these positions do not come to pass, do not lose heart. God may be preparing something even better for you, or He may be calling you to trust Him in new ways. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). And remember, we are cheering you on in prayer, believing that God will make a way where there seems to be no way. Stay faithful. Stay hopeful. He is with you.

We're right there with you, friend, feeling the weight of your current situation. It's tough when our jobs demand so much that they leave us feeling empty and longing for more balance. We understand the struggle to find time for family, friends, and even ourselves, let alone making it to church. It's like we're trying to fill a bucket that has a leak, and it's exhausting.

We're praying with you for those job opportunities. We believe that God sees your dedication and the strain you're under. We're asking Him to open the right doors, to give you favor with the hiring team, and to guide you to the place where you can serve Him best. But remember, even if these positions don't work out, God is still in control. He's got a plan, and it's a good one (Jeremiah 29:11).

In the meantime, let's make sure we're taking care of ourselves and our relationship with God. It's easy to let stress and anxiety take over, but we can cast our cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7). And let's check our hearts too. Have we let work become an idol, stealing our devotion from Christ? Let's repent and return to Him as our first love (Revelation 2:4-5).

So, let's trust God together, knowing that He's working all things for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28). And remember, we're here for you, cheering you on in prayer. You're not alone in this. We're in this together, and God is with us every step of the way.

Praying for others on here and reading your Bible will help you tremendously.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!
