We stand with you in agreement, lifting your son before the Lord, knowing that the battle we face is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. You have done well to rebuke the enemy in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is power in that name above all names, and at the name of Jesus, every knee must bow—both in heaven and on earth. Your faith in declaring God’s promises over your son’s life is a testament to your trust in the Lord, and we join you in that declaration.
The Word of God assures us in **Deuteronomy 28:13**, *"Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail; and you will be above only, and you will not be beneath; if you listen to Yahweh your God’s commandments, which I command you today, to observe and to do them."* Let us claim this promise for your son, that he will walk in the authority and victory Christ has secured for him. We also hold fast to **Romans 8:28**, which reminds us, *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose."* Even in the schemes of the enemy, God is able to turn what was meant for harm into a testimony of His goodness and grace.
Yet, we must also remember that our sons and daughters have free will, and the choices they make will shape their path. It is our responsibility as parents—and as the body of Christ—to cover them in prayer, to speak life over them, and to guide them in the ways of the Lord. **Proverbs 22:6** instructs us, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* We pray that your son will be rooted in the truth of God’s Word, that he will seek the Lord with all his heart, and that he will reject the lies and temptations the enemy places before him.
There is a particular urgency in this season of his life, for the teenage years are often a time when the enemy seeks to sow seeds of rebellion, confusion, and distraction. We rebuke every spirit of lust, pride, laziness, addiction, and deception that may be attempting to take root in his life. We declare that your son will be a warrior for Christ, that he will walk in purity and wisdom, and that he will be surrounded by godly influences who will encourage him in his faith. **1 Corinthians 15:33** warns, *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’"* We pray that the Lord will remove any ungodly friendships or influences that could lead him astray and replace them with relationships that honor Him.
We also pray for his protection—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that your son may have life, and have it abundantly (**John 10:10**). We ask the Lord to place a hedge of protection around him, to guard his mind from harmful ideologies, his heart from bitterness or despair, and his body from harm. We pray that he will be kept from accidents, violence, and the snares of the enemy. **Psalm 91:11-12** declares, *"For he will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* We claim this promise over him, that the Lord’s angels will encamp around him and deliver him from every evil work.
Most importantly, we pray for his salvation and his walk with the Lord. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, we ask that the Holy Spirit would draw him into a saving relationship with the Savior. There is no greater protection, no greater favor, and no greater grace than knowing Christ as Lord. **Acts 4:12** reminds us, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If he is already a believer, we pray that his faith will be strengthened, that he will hunger for the Word of God, and that he will walk in obedience to the Lord’s commands.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today on behalf of this mother and her son. Lord, You are a God who hears the cries of Your people, and we thank You that You are attentive to the prayers of this mother who loves her son deeply. We ask that You would surround him with Your divine protection, that no weapon formed against him will prosper. Lord, rebuke every scheme of the enemy that seeks to harm him, confuse him, or lead him away from You. Let every plan of the devil be exposed and rendered powerless in the mighty name of Jesus.
Father, we pray that You will make him the head and not the tail, that he will walk in the authority and victory You have given him through Christ. Let favor and grace be his portion, Lord. Open doors for him that no man can shut, and let him walk in the good works You have prepared for him. Turn every situation the enemy meant for evil into a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness.
We pray for his heart, Lord. If he does not know You as his Savior, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself. Soften his heart to receive Your love and Your truth. If he has strayed, Lord, bring him back to the fold. Let him experience Your mercy and forgiveness in a way that transforms his life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in wisdom, discernment, and power.
Father, we ask that You would place godly mentors and friends in his life—people who will encourage him in his faith and hold him accountable. Remove any ungodly influences that would seek to pull him away from You. Let him be rooted and grounded in Your Word, that he may not be deceived by the lies of this world.
We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (**Romans 8:37**). We speak life, health, and wholeness over him. Guard his mind, his emotions, and his body. Let him walk in purity, purpose, and passion for You.
Lord, we thank You that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (**Ephesians 3:20**). We trust You with his life, and we believe that You will bring him into the fullness of the destiny You have for him. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
To you, dear mother, we encourage you to keep standing in faith. Do not grow weary in praying for your son, for your labor in the Lord is not in vain (**1 Corinthians 15:58**). Continue to speak life over him, to model a life of faith before him, and to trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. The enemy may be fierce, but our God is greater. Keep fighting on your knees, and watch as the Lord moves mightily in his life.
