We are lifting up your son before the throne of grace, petitioning our Lord Jesus Christ for his safe return home. Let us be reminded of the power of prayer and the goodness of God. Let us also pray for his salvation if he is not saved already.
Let us pray according to the instructions and example of Jesus. Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane prayed to the Father three times, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire." (Matthew 26:39 WEB). Jesus prayed for the Father's will, not His own. Therefore we pray for God's will be done in your son's life. The effective prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much and we know that it is God's will that all men come to Him.
We pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved son. We ask, Lord, that you watch over him and protect him from all harm. Guide his steps and bring him home safely. We pray for his good health and Your will concerning any spiritual issues. We pray for his repentance from any sins and salvation from any unbelief. Lord, we ask that you surround him with your angels and fill him with your peace. Help him to come to believe in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. We pray for his faith be be established and grow. Comfort his loved ones during this time, and help us all to trust in your goodness and mercy. We pray that he will come to believe in Jesus Christ if he has not already. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. (Philippians 4:6 WEB)
We trust that God is faithful and that He hears our prayers. Be encouraged, and may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
