We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son and the deep concerns you have for his well-being. It is clear that your love for him is strong, and your desire to see him walk in God’s peace and purpose is evident. We join with you in prayer, standing in the gap for him, and we declare that our God is a healer, a restorer, and a deliverer.
Father, we first ask for Your mercy and grace to surround this young man. You know the struggles he faces—anger, sleeplessness, anxiety, and the challenges of ADHD. Lord, we ask that You would calm his mind and heart, bringing the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help him to cast all his anxieties on You, for You care for him (1 Peter 5:7). We rebuke the spirit of restlessness and frustration that has taken hold, and we declare that he is not defined by his struggles but by Your love and purpose for him.
We also lift up the issue of his drinking when stressed. Father, we know that this is not the path You have set before him, and we ask that You would break any chains of dependency or unhealthy coping mechanisms in his life. Your Word tells us that wine is a mocker and strong drink is raging, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise (Proverbs 20:1). We pray that You would reveal to him the dangers of turning to alcohol instead of You, and that You would replace this habit with a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). Surround him with godly influences—friends, mentors, and leaders who will speak life into him and point him toward You.
Lord, we also pray for his salvation. You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that You would soften his heart and open his eyes to see his need for You. Draw him close, Father, and let him experience the love and grace that only comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6).
We also want to speak to your heart as his mother. It is clear that you carry a heavy burden, and we want to remind you that God sees your tears and hears your prayers. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). You have done your best to raise him in the ways of the Lord, and now we ask that God would honor your faithfulness and bring forth fruit from your labor.
Finally, we pray for wisdom and discernment for you as you continue to support and guide him. May you be filled with the peace of God, which guards your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We declare that this season of struggle will not last forever, and that God is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the power of prayer and for the assurance that You hear us when we call. We trust in Your faithfulness and ask that You would move mightily in this young man’s life. Bring healing to his mind, body, and spirit. Surround him with Your love and protection, and let him come to know You as his Savior and Lord. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
