We lift up your son and you before the throne of grace in this time of deep sorrow and struggle. The pain of a broken relationship and the weight of business losses can feel overwhelming, but we know that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Father, we ask that You wrap Your arms of comfort around him and around you, reminding both of you that Your love is steadfast and Your mercy endures forever.
Lord, we pray for healing in your son’s heart. The wounds of rejection and failure can leave scars, but we trust in Your promise to restore what has been broken. Help him to release the pain into Your hands and to find peace in Your presence. Remind him that his worth is not defined by earthly success or the approval of others, but by the unchanging truth that he is Your beloved child (Ephesians 1:4-5). Strengthen him with the hope that You are working all things together for his good, even when the path is unclear (Romans 8:28).
We also ask for Your comfort for you, dear mother. It is natural to ache when your child is hurting, and we pray that You would fill you with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help you to trust in the Lord’s faithfulness, knowing that He hears your cries and collects your tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). May you find rest in Him as you intercede for your son, and may your own heart be encouraged by the truth that God is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).
Father, we must also speak truth into this situation with love. If this breakup involved a relationship that did not honor You—whether through premarital intimacy, ungodly influences, or a partnership outside of Your design—we ask that You would bring conviction and repentance where needed. Your Word is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy is reserved for that union alone (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If sin has played a role in this pain, we pray for Your forgiveness and restoration, and for Your wisdom to guide your son into relationships that align with Your will.
Lord, we also ask that You would provide for your son’s practical needs during this time of business loss. You are the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and we trust that You will supply all his needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Open doors of opportunity for him, and give him the courage to walk through them with faith.
Above all, we pray that both of you would draw closer to Jesus in this season. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If your son has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we pray that this time of pain would soften his heart to the gospel. May he come to know the love of Jesus, who laid down His life for him, and find true healing in the cross.
We declare over your son and over you that this is not the end of your story. The Lord is making all things new (Revelation 21:5), and we trust that He will turn this mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11). May you both experience His presence in a tangible way, and may His joy be your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
