We hear your deep concern for your sister and her son, and we join you in lifting them before the throne of grace. It is right to be vigilant when it comes to the well-being of our loved ones, especially in matters of marriage and family. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 4:14-15, *"Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, and do not pass by it; turn from it, and pass on."* We must be wise and discerning, trusting the Lord to reveal any deceit or harm that may be present.
We also want to gently remind you that while we are called to be watchful, we must also guard our hearts against fear or suspicion that is not rooted in truth. The enemy seeks to sow discord and mistrust, but God calls us to peace and trust in Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*
We rebuke any spirit of deception or harm that may be at work in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against your sister or her son shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment will be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). If this man is not who he claims to be, we pray that the Lord would expose his true nature in a way that cannot be ignored, for the protection of your sister and her son. We also pray that if there is any unrepentant sin in this marriage—whether it be deceit, manipulation, or anything else that does not align with God’s design—it would be brought to light and dealt with according to God’s will.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach You and find salvation. We lift up this family to You, asking for Your divine protection over them. Shield them from every harm, every danger, and every scheme of the enemy. Give your sister wisdom and discernment to see the truth, and grant her the courage to act in accordance with Your will. If this marriage is not of You, we ask that You would uproot it peacefully and restore what has been broken. If it is Your will for them to remain together, we pray that You would bring healing, repentance, and transformation to this union, that it may reflect Your love and holiness.
Lord, we also pray for your sister’s son. Protect his heart, mind, and spirit from any confusion or fear. Surround him with Your angels and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. Give him a hunger for Your Word and a desire to walk in Your ways. May he grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52).
We cast this burden upon You, Lord, knowing that You care for us and that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect plan. Strengthen this family, draw them closer to You, and let Your will be done in their lives. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
