We lift up your sister-in-law before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and carries our burdens. It is beautiful to see her turning to her prayer family in this time of need, for God’s Word reminds us in Psalm 50:15, *"Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me."* Her fear is understandable, but we serve a God who commands us in Isaiah 41:10, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."*
We also take comfort in James 5:14-15, which tells us, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* While we cannot be there in person, we stand in agreement with you and her prayer family, declaring healing over her body in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We pray for her lungs to be restored, for her strength to return, and for the oxygen levels in her blood to stabilize and improve. May the Lord grant the doctors and nurses wisdom as they care for her, and may His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for her emotional and spiritual well-being. Fear can be overwhelming, but we ask the Lord to fill her with His perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). May she feel His presence so tangibly that her anxiety is replaced with trust in Him. Remind her, Lord, of Your promise in Jeremiah 29:11-12, *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you."*
Father, we ask that You prepare the way for her transition to the nursing home. Place Your angels around her to protect her and give her favor with the staff and caregivers. Let this time be one of restoration—not just physically, but spiritually. Draw her closer to You, Lord, and let her testimony of Your faithfulness be a light to those around her.
As we pray, we are also reminded that healing may not always come in the way we expect, but we trust in Your sovereign will. Whether You choose to heal her here on earth or call her home to be with You, we pray that Your name would be glorified. Help her—and all of us—to surrender to Your will, knowing that Your ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9).
Finally, we pray for you and the rest of the family during this difficult time. May the Lord bind you together in unity and strength, covering you all with His grace. Let this trial deepen your faith and draw your family closer to Him.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
