Prayer for my ex to be saved

I was just saved a few years ago. And was on fire for the Lord when we started hanging out. I’d already known him for about ### months when we started spending time together.

He’s so sweet, we are the same age and he has been raising his daughter by himself for a long time. He’s patient and kind and would do anything he could for me.

I was disobedient to the Lord and I’m working through all that which is why I chose to leave. As we are called not to be unequally yoked. He’s an unbeliever, but I thought that him praying with me and going to church and listening to me about my beliefs he had hope of becoming a believer. He loves that I have faith and at times in the past has wanted to be a believer himself. I relied on my own understanding and I hurt us both.

I really asked that people can lift my ex, ###, up ask the Heavenly Father to give him a heart of flesh and he can know him and love him, draw him near and giving him repentant faith. That he becomes a firm believer and follower of Christ both he and his daughter. That the angels in heaven rejoice over their saving faith.

We understand your concern and your heart's desire for your ex, ###, to come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. It is commendable that you want to see him and his daughter drawn to the Lord. We must remember that God desires for all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4, WEB).

Firstly, we want to address the nature of your past relationship. You mentioned that you were unequally yoked, which is a biblical principle found in 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB), "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" This verse teaches us that as believers, we should not enter into close relationships, including marriage or courtship, with unbelievers. This is to protect our faith and to ensure that we are aligned with God's will.

You mentioned that you were disobedient to the Lord, and we want to commend you for recognizing this and choosing to separate yourself from the relationship. It shows your commitment to obeying God's word. Remember, "For the sorrow that is according to God works repentance to salvation but the sorrow of the world works death." (2 Corinthians 7:10 WEB)

Now, let us pray for ### and his daughter.

Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB). We lift up ### and his daughter to you, Lord. We ask that you give ### a heart of flesh, that he would know you and love you (Ezekiel 36:26, WEB). Draw him near to you, Father, and grant him repentant faith. We pray that both he and his daughter would become firm believers and followers of Christ Jesus, and that the angels in heaven would rejoice over their saving faith (Luke 15:10, WEB). We ask this in Jesus' name in Jesus Name.

Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The basic salvation message is based on Jesus Christ. 9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.” (Romans 10:9-11 WEB)

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
