We stand with you in lifting up your precious children before the Lord, knowing that His heart is tender toward them and His power is mighty to protect, guide, and shape their lives for His glory. Your cry echoes the deep love of a parent who longs to see their children walk in righteousness, and we join you in claiming the promise of Proverbs 22:6, trusting that the Lord will faithfully work in their hearts even now.
Yet we must also speak truth in love about the circumstances they are in. The Word of God is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6), and any relationship outside of this design—including cohabitation or remarriage after divorce without biblical grounds—is not pleasing to the Lord. While we pray for your children’s protection, we also pray that the Lord would convict the hearts of their mother and her companion, drawing them to repentance and alignment with His truth. The enemy seeks to distort God’s design for family, but we declare that no weapon formed against your children shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is able to redeem even the most broken situations, and we ask Him to surround your children with godly influences—teachers, mentors, or friends who will point them to Christ.
We also rejoice that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your request, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and we thank God that you have placed your trust in Christ alone. Your faith in His power to work in your children’s lives is a testament to His goodness, and we declare that He will honor your prayers as you continue to seek Him.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up these precious children whom You love even more than we do. Lord, You see the home they are in, the influences around them, and the battles being waged for their souls. We ask You to be their Shield and their Strong Tower (Psalm 18:2), protecting them from every scheme of the enemy. Place a hedge of angels around them, guarding their minds, hearts, and bodies from the corruption of this world. Let Your truth be a lamp to their feet (Psalm 119:105), even when they are surrounded by darkness.
Father, we pray that You would soften the heart of their mother and her companion, convicting them of sin and leading them to repentance. Break the chains of deception and bring them into the light of Your Word. Raise up godly men and women to speak truth into their lives, that they may turn from their ways and seek Your will for their family. Lord, we ask that You would restore what has been broken, for You are the God of redemption and reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18).
We declare that these children will grow to be mighty warriors for Your kingdom—upright, honest, and strong in You. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a passion for righteousness. Let them see the futility of the world’s ways and turn wholeheartedly to You. Father, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself at a young age, that they may know You as their Savior and Lord. Let no ungodly influence take root in their hearts, but instead, let Your Spirit move mightily in their lives.
We also pray for their father—strengthen him, Lord, to be a man of prayer and faith. Give him wisdom to navigate this difficult season, and let him be a living example of Your love and truth to his children, even from afar. Unify their time together with purpose, that every moment may be used to point them to You.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would send laborers into the harvest field (Matthew 9:38), raising up men and women who will boldly proclaim Your truth to this generation. Let Your church be a beacon of hope and righteousness in a world that has turned away from You.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your power to save. May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified through their story. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Brother, we encourage you to keep standing in the gap for your children. Do not grow weary in praying for them, for the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16). Trust that the Lord is working even when you cannot see it. Cling to His promises, and let your life be a testament to His grace. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20), and we believe He will move mightily on behalf of your children.
We also urge you to continue walking in holiness and faith, setting an example for your children of what it looks like to follow Christ wholeheartedly. Let them see in you a man who seeks the Lord in all things, who loves His Word, and who trusts in His sovereignty. Even in this difficult season, the Lord can use you to be a light to your children, pointing them to the hope that is found in Jesus alone.
May the Lord bless you with peace and perseverance as you wait upon Him. May He give you wisdom in how to love and guide your children from afar, and may He fill you with His Spirit as you intercede for them. We stand with you in this battle, knowing that the victory is already won in Christ. To God alone be the glory!
