Our hearts are deeply burdened for your brother, his wife, and their precious daughter as they face this terrifying trial of wildfires during what should have been a time of joy and rest. We lift them up to the Lord, who is their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 91:5-6, *"You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday."* Though the flames rage, God is greater, and He holds their lives in His hands.
We must also gently address that you did not invoke the name of Jesus in your request, yet it is only through Him that we have boldness to approach the throne of grace. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved."* If you have not yet placed your faith in Christ alone for salvation, we urge you to do so now—for He is the only way to eternal life (John 14:6). Even in this moment of crisis, He is calling you to trust in Him.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, pleading for Your divine protection over this family. Command the winds and flames to spare them, Lord, just as You shut the mouths of the lions for Daniel and parted the Red Sea for Your people. Surround them with Your angels, as You did for Elisha when the enemy sought to destroy him (2 Kings 6:16-17). Give them wisdom to flee to safety, strength to endure, and peace that surpasses understanding. If they have not yet surrendered their lives to You, Lord, let this trial drive them to the cross, where mercy and grace abound.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and destruction in Jesus’ name, declaring that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Cover them with the blood of Christ, their shield and defender. May this trial be a testimony of Your power and love, drawing them—and all who witness—closer to You.
To you who have brought this request, we urge you to cry out to Jesus now, not just for their physical safety, but for their souls. If they do not know Him as Savior, pray that this crisis would open their eyes to their need for Him. And if *you* have not yet repented and believed the gospel, do so today. Romans 10:9-10 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation."*
Stand firm in faith, beloved. Our God is able to deliver—whether through the flames or from them. Trust Him, and keep praying without ceasing. We are standing with you.
